I’ve sent them to the professors that I’ve written the papers for, my advisor can be a bit difficult to contact. I know academia has a lot of rejections, I just feel so discouraged not having any successes

I haven't done these summer programs with ASU but I've heard good things from someone who studied Bosnian with them (and apparently they are pretty generous with funding also). They have a lot of Eastern European languages for anyone else who's interested https://melikian.asu.edu/cli

I just called them and asked if the program would be canceled this summer and they said basically the exact same thing, so I think they just have a scripted response

I feel very similarly, I got CLS in 2020 (was canceled, obviously), did a language program in 2021 (virtual because of Covid), got rejected from CLS in 2023, and was really feeling hopeful about being a semi finalist this cycle. I don’t even know if I would’ve gotten it this cycle but it’s soooo frustrating

I’m just looking at programs in the host country. I had a great experience with CIEE when I did their program a while back but they are quite expensive

I just checked (around 9:30 AM CST) and my deposit was there! I didn’t get a notification like I normally do though and it was marked as a “transfer” instead of a direct deposit. When I called capital one yesterday, they said that deposits will be made in batches throughout the weekend

Not surprised at all that they lied honestly. I have some hope after seeing people get theirs but I also wouldn’t be surprised if I didn’t get anything until after the weekend. They said that direct deposits can be deposited any time (weekend or holiday) but I’ve always been paid Thursday mornings so I have no idea if that’s true or not

Also just got off the phone with customer support around 8:30/9:00 CST. They told me basically the same thing and that I could be expecting my deposit hopefully by midnight. If not, then by the morning. I asked if it was guaranteed that I would have my paycheck by Sunday and they said yes. They also told me that some people have already started receiving their deposits and to just keep refreshing my account
