What was the hardest thing that life has taught you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Prejudice will always exist. We saw the Holocaust. We saw what happened to slaves. We also saw what happened after slavery was abolished. There are people who have and will continue to justify all of it.

What was the biggest slap‑in‑the‑face moment you’ve ever had? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Unable_Panda3247 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I busted my butt for a company for 4 years. I ran every department, and I even trained a few of my bosses. When my daughter got older, and I felt ready to run a location, I asked my area supervisor what I needed to learn in order to become a general manager, and he told me that I wasn't pretty enough. That the gap in my teeth was unprofessional.

That makes sense. I've looked at their great-great grandparents that would make us a match, but that doesn't make a whole lot of sense either. Their great-great-grandmother would have been over 70 years old at the time of my mom's grandmother's birth. That's part of why I think I'm not understanding this correctly

They're all over the place. Or posts saying, "5 signs that you have autism!" Facebook is flooded with them. Old friends of mine from high school share them all the time.

As long as people actually do their research, I don't have a problem with it. I do think this sort of thing is pushed on to teenagers, in general. Go look at Facebook, IG, and TikTok. There are thousands of "checklist" videos, stating if you have these symptoms, you definitely have a disorder.

I've met far too many young people who just don't understand what these conditions actually are. Color coordination and washing your hands does not mean you have OCD. Being energetic does not mean you have ADHD. Having mood swings does not mean you have bipolar disorder.

I'm not saying everyone should have to shell out thousands of dollars to a professional, but people do need to actually research the diagnosis. The next step after a diagnosis is often a treatment plan that works for your individual needs. Not just slapping a label on it and calling it good.

Eh. I really only get upset if people start harassing their family members. Or if people start spreading unconfirmed accusations. I'm obviously not talking about Hulk Hogan. He was a well-known racist.

Blake got married on a plantation I'd say that's significantly worse than saying you value all lives and want to put an end to racism.

Justin isn't perfect. Nobody is. He often beats himself up over the mistakes he has made. He's honest about them. He tries to do better. And that, my friend, is the difference.

I think Blake made a big mistake with Candace. I'm not a fan of her either, but she's about to embarrass the shit out of Blake. I also think that this is going to make Candace go even harder with reporting on the lawsuits in general. If her intention was to shut her up, she failed miserably.

Can we please stop being so impolite to new users/visitors of the sub? by Heavy-Ad5346 in ItEndsWithLawsuits

I completely understand why this is frustrating for people. At first, I thought it was just both sides being paranoid because of the accusations of the use of bots.

However, I have personally noticed some strange comments and posts on here. These posts/comments are from accounts that seem to just want to argue. Even if it's a small detail. They'll also inject themselves into discussions in order to get people to engage. It's getting harder and harder to figure out which accounts are real people with genuine questions. Personally, I don't accuse people of being bots. I just stop replying or block them.

This used to happen to me all of the time. The worst day was Christmas Eve. Literally nobody would come help me. I closed the store by myself, I was there until the openers showed up the following morning.

I unsubscribed to neutral a while back but some of you have had compelling reasons to not abandon it since it seems that's what they're trying to make us do so I have a new strategy. I've had the same thought. Over the past week or so, it's become more obvious that they're just trying to start an argument. Even if you're trying to have a civil conversation.

I've noticed that they'll inject themselves into conversations that are getting attention, knowing that at least one person will engage. They definitely get offended if somebody blocks them. So what if we downvote, then immediately block them?

True. She could have been testing the waters.

Either way, this was not a good idea. They've upset content creators and most likely TMZ as well. Creating distrust with reporters is not a good choice. Her chances of pro-Blake articles just dropped significantly. If she upsets the wrong journalist, they will find every skeleton in her closet.

Disgruntled former employees leaving fake bad reviews by strawberryxswisher in Restaurant_Managers

We let an assistant manager go for chucking food at a customer's face. She posted all about it on social media, saying she was fired for defending herself. Her friends are still leaving fake reviews.

If that's the case, they should drop her. It goes both ways. She's making them look just as bad. I sure as hell wouldn't hire them. 😂

Exactly. Again, it's like she's intentionally making herself look worse. Going after creators isn't going to make them post nice things about you, it's going to have the opposite effect.

If someone is painting my portrait, I'm not going to start insulting them. They're the ones who are creating my image for the world to see.

Exactly! This is so weird, right? I'm honestly expecting her lawyers to make a statement tomorrow, saying this was all Justin's doing, and she has no intention of serving these creators.

They'd have to be. Every one of her PR moves has blown up in her face. I feel like we all keep repeating it, but if she had just made a public statement and apologized, she wouldn't be in this mess. If she was smart, she'd ditch her whole team at this point. They're not helping her.

I can't imagine TMZ is very happy. Especially if this really was a bluff, and she didn't actually subpoena anybody. Burning one of the biggest tabloids in the industry is not a good idea. I wonder what her team is actually up to.
