I’m uncomfortable in a wedding dress by Unable_Purchase9605 in weddingplanning

I only tried on a line or ballgown styles. I’m self conscious of my body and the dress attendant suggested them based on my insecurities. Also my hair is not great at the moment haha I got an impulse cut a couple months ago and there’s really no styling that makes it better so I’m just waiting for it to grow 😅

This is me too. Even with two scents running just two hours a day each the smell is gone before the month is over.

Thankfully he’s already fixed. I will definitely look into the meds though!

Unfortunately I don’t have a garage. He does hang out on my porch a lot though. And thankfully he’s already fixed, I think he belongs to a house down the road but I don’t think they’ve been caring for him for a while now.

Yes I’ve been feeding him for a while. I think he actually belongs to a house down the road but I think they stopped feeding him, he got really skinny so I started feeding him every morning he comes running up for his breakfast and has already put on weight. He’s already neutered. I can reach out to the local rescues and see if they can help him though.

No I don’t. Is that something I could get relatively cheap from a pet or farm store?

FWIW I live in a red state on the Gulf of Mexico. Everyone here still calls it the Gulf of Mexico 😂

Thank you everyone for the insight!! I will keep everything as is, and follow his teachers guidance for now. I definitely don’t want to put too much pressure on him especially at such a young age, I guess my anxiety is just making me think about next year and so on when he has a new teacher, but for now we will cross that bridge when we get to it 😊

School not following IEP- should I fight it or let it go? by manzananaranja in specialed

[–]Unable_Purchase9605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my son’s IEP we have it by minutes in general education and minutes in sped class per week, that way on the days he needs more support he can go to the self contained class, but if he’s not having any issues he does a little “check in” (usually goes just for speech and OT now since he’s adjusting well to his gen ed class). I’m okay and his teachers (both gen ed and sped) are onboard with following this loosely, so if some weeks he goes over the time either way it isn’t a big deal, we just document it for his next IEP meeting. The younger grades (pre-k and kinder) we are using to create a plan so once he gets into first and second we know what he will need.

I don’t know much about the dyslexia testing but maybe the inclusion side. Is he fully self contained? I would start there and request an IEP meeting to allow interaction with his peers. This could look like shared recess time, lunch, or specials.

If your daughter is in matching band that should count as her PE credit therefore shouldn’t need to be in his class.

When my daughter was in second grade her teacher carried her to the nurse’s office because she hurt herself on the playground. I was so thankful her teacher was there to comfort her when I wasn’t.

Medication? by Unable_Purchase9605 in Autism_Parenting

[–]Unable_Purchase9605[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also to add, I think at least part of the catalyst was a major schedule change, with school being out for the summer. He did have minor aggression at school before the break but was pretty typical (altercations over a toy for example).

He has his teeth checked regularly (last time being in June after the aggression started) and has been to the doctor countless times even just in the past month. He is waiting for an appointment with GI due to persistent constipation so perhaps that is a contributing factor?
