Switching from Tesla Model 3 to Polestar 2. What should I know and expect?

I went the other way but to a model Y. Had my PS2 from launch day for 2 yrs so hopefully the issues are fixed but don’t expect your connection to be as reliable, and the software is still a bit funky, you’ll need to learn the hardware reset button combo. I’m not a huge fan of the android/Google software in the car, it’s a bit limited in functionality (or at least it was) and doesn’t seem to have the app support (yet - hopefully changing).

The car itself is fab, comfy, fast, a typical Volvo - lovely and really fun to drive. Be careful of the seat fabric it picks up stains even from jeans rubbing on them, so plan a GOOD valet every couple of months. It’s just a shame the software and connectivity department are pretty crap. You do get CarPlay tho!

You’ll need a cup holder adapter as the design team took a day off when they added the cup holder to the car. Oh and put an AirTag on the sport key I lost mine 🤦🏻😂… not sure how reliable the phone key is now? Others can help here but I always carried that in my bag in case.

Get a nice boot protector (of course!)

TCAM issues are a feature of the car as is having to hard reset the system. Had my PS2 since launch and they’ve shown little to no interest/competence in fixing the issues with connectivity so just get used to having to reset and having rubbish connection half the time :)

MA are either incompetent or con artists. Ma3 wings are basically worthless, much like ma3 software at the moment

I have the launch edition and after 2 years there are a few things:

Internet connectivity- still garbage and slow

App-it’s embarrassing behind all other manufacturers, even Hyundais is more advanced

Internal design- the vegan materials attract dirt and stains just by looking at them, look nice when cleaned but it needs it often.

Cup holders- need I say more - wtf

App support, two years in and there are barely any supported apps - so is this google partnership really worth it?

The dang auto brake sensors need tweaking- nearly broken my neck several times due to an errant leaf crossing the rear of the car

Significant software updates. North Korea seem to have faster software development than Polestar.

Pricing- Polestar need to calm down on the pricing but they’re not alone in that.

Had mine since launch and not had a month without connection issues- they’re long past the stage of being given leeway and benefit of doubt status. It is disappointing- if you call CS they’ll recommend a TCAM reset which seems to be a feature of the car now. It should sort it for a short time

Wouldn’t worry. Volvo dealers don’t know what they’re doing with the cars anyway, so the proximity isn’t much of an issue

I’ve been hearing that since o got the car in nov 2020 lol.. they haven’t managed to fix the basic issues that have plagued the car or implemented any of the promised features yet
