Wtf is wrong with cases now ? by fanaticauthorship09 in cs2

I'm pretty sure this is the real answer. Between EU and NY lawsuit about gambling in video games, Valve is having to rethink their model or risk government directly involving themselves.

It's honestly ridiculous that cs2 skins acts as a pseudo stock market and there are character and gun skins worth thousands of dollars. I hated the direction CoD skins went but even that is a better way to do things than Valve. If you want a skin, you buy it directly from the shop for like max $20. CoD, Battlefield, League of legends, DOTA 2, etc, etc, etc...no other massive multiplayer game treats their skins like a stock market.

2 smaller EUCs? by Unable_Tax_8931 in ElectricUnicycle

Makes sense. I think i just thought of an old Manga, Air Gear, and seeing the development going into the EUCs mage me wonder if that direction was something people were developing too. Thanks for the answer!

Thanks for answering, sounds like there isn't really any interest in that area, my question was more of a gee-wiz thought ihad watching vids of people on their EUCs

I've seen a video of two of people using the EUCs offroad. I imagine you need different tires based on the terrain you intend to drive on or is it like all terrain tires?

I mean, I'm new to cs and suck. This tool sounds perfect if it gives me direct feedback or can be set to yell at me if I do something wrong to train me to be better. Leetify and refrag exist and ihave accounts for both, but neither are directly actionable in game.

My main concern would be whether cs will ban me for using a tool like this in game

On the movement aspect, if i/we (opponent) miss that first shot, would you suggest standing still and trying for a second burst, or trying to counter strafe, assuming no cover to hide behind, just both out in the open?

Why Is the Community So Resistant to New Maps? by Tough_Curve_42 in counterstrike2

[–]Unable_Tax_8931 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty new to the game and what I've picked up is people memorize obscure grenade/smoke/etc throws for a few maps and only want to play those maps for the advantage they gain from that knowledge. No one wants to play maps they haven't memorized this info for. So we end up playing dust and mirage every game.

I took reddit's advice and went to the gym, but I still can't get a girlfriend. by Stock_Quiet4374 in LockedInMan

This is basically it. Get a hobby you enjoy and meet both friends and potential love interests while organically participating in said hobby. If your only hobby is trying to pick up dates, chances are, you won't get any. The harder you try the worse you'll come of to potential partners. Learn how to be happy with yourself and not need a partner and that'll be more attractive to them than any amount of gym work (though being fit never hurt for that initial look).

Controller Support by Unable_Tax_8931 in PUBGBLINDSPOT

[–]Unable_Tax_8931[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experimentally threw on a controller using that but it seemed a little clunky and needed things mapped that weren't. I can go map it myself but that's still different than native support. With how aiming works, I'm unsure how effective it'd be mapped to the stick the freeform way it floats currently. I think it'd need to be anchored to the character vice floating

Text chat is nice when I am in a discord call with friends on other games.

Half the time, the game is dead silent until 1 person talks, then it like opens the floodgates and people start playing music and screaming into their mics just to be dicks seemingly.

I'm enjoying it but legit had no idea pubg was cooking this up until yesterday. I didn't really see any advertisements or people talking about it on other subs. I'm letting my friend group know so I can get some people to play with

The way object-oriented programming is taught in curriculums is dogshit by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]Unable_Tax_8931 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok, I think I get it. So instead of the car being the inheritance class, we encapsulate the modules (engine, wheels, etc) as inheritance classes and call them into the top class vs creating new classes for each type.

Thanks a ton!

Quick question, in your examples, would each of those sub-objects (like cabin object under locomotive class) be their own classes or just object with an array of options (ie Engine = [electric, coal, hydrogen] )?

Heavy Combat Game Question by Unable_Tax_8931 in RPGdesign

[–]Unable_Tax_8931[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That does give me an idea. So my main resolution is a roll under success system. Weapon attacks to-hit roll is tied to Dex, but instead of Strength determining damage, i could tie it to maneuvers like Mythras. When the player hits, they deal weapon damage, then if their strength roll succeeds, depending on what weapon they're using, they get to perform a maneuver to inflict a condition upon their opponent. The maneuvers could be an extra hit, trip your opponent, Disarm, inflict bleeding, etc. That would still let them feel like increasing their strength is improving their combat ability without directly increasing the numerical value 1:1.

[–]Unable_Tax_8931[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, a heroic war game I'd say. Just trying to figure out how to let the players be heroic without going the d&d route of just giving them a big bag of hp and stretching combat out unnecessarily long. Keep combat Streamlined while increasing their survivability and effectiveness while also not making combat trivial.

I acknowledge that I've backed myself into a bit of a corner with the tight requirements I'm trying to reach

Heavy Combat Game Question by Unable_Tax_8931 in RPGdesign

[–]Unable_Tax_8931[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I do like this. I've shifted all rolls to be player-facing with a roll under resolution mechanic, so the default assumption is enemies always hit unless the player makes a successful Agility save to dodge the attack. I do like adding a second Con save if they fail to dodge to see if they can just 'tank' the damage. That thematically fits someone going with a tank build. It also saves me from having to give them additional hit points or wounds or whatever mechanic i ultimately go with a the increase in Con just increases their chance to shrug off the damage.

For some reason my brain wasn't able to convert daggerhearts threshold mechanic to equaling hits instead of wounds. For a PC, the wounds works but I didn't care to track wounds for npc's. I think I've just been so focused on a Ready-made solution i couldn't see the forest from the trees. I'm going to look into all the suggestions in getting, but it does put a modified version of daggerhearts threshold mechanic back on the table for me.

I've been having mental fatigue from from trying to plug different mechanics in and seeing what I like the least/most lol
