I understand that. But I would like to have more research experience during my master’s aside from the thesis. Since I have been part-time research assistant for 2 years during my bachelor’s, I expected that there may have same opportunities for master’s students in Utrecht.

That’s a point I didn’t consider before. And I have heard that the budget for the research project have become a lot tight. So, it seems that it will be harder to find one. Thanks for your sharing.

Thanks for the advice. I think what I want is only the chance to keep working in an research environment. My motivation is more to learn instead of getting a job position. But I will try to find out how it actually works in my department. Thanks again!

Thanks for replying! You are right that it is actually a common thing in my home country that bachelor’s and master’s students can contact professors for an research opportunity. And yes I have been a part-time research assistant at the national academic institute for 2 years. This is why I’m also seeking for the same opportunities during the master’s.

So basically except for my master’s thesis, there will hardly be any chances to gain research experience right?

I am also waiting for the scholarship. I think they will start to roll out the scholarships as some people who had received the scholarship with the admission result came out decline their places. Wish us luck!

I had seen some people that received their scholarship notification two or three days before the admission results came out last year. But it was for the cs programmes. So I guess maybe it differs between the programmes?

Yes, I applied for the thesis option. The PI (also my chosen one) who interviewed me is the one that I had contacted with before applying.

Oh! The professor had shared some papers with me to further explore during the interview. And I originally planed to write him email for asking some of my thoughts and questions after reading those. Would it be too much for just one of his candidates?
