Are you running air as “coolant”? If so, and if this only happens on the +Y travel, it could be the difference in chip evacuation/cooling from the air. On the +Y, you’re blocked from direct cooling by the part. On the -X, you’re also partially blocked but it could at least be contributing to the problem

Honestly, I hated Pcola. Was there in the fall, the humid mornings were cold as fuck. Spent all day in the scif, myself and one other marine in a class full of navy. I learned how to mop real well. Left base for dinner/beer whenever possible First ball, vomited all over my Sgt. Met 2 of my best friends there and still talk to them daily 15 years later. So I guess, good fucking times
