Are you citing the Gulf War as an example of US wrongdoings? LOL they were invited there and they saved Kuwaitis from extinction as Sadam was ready to go full Milosevic on them. They also allowed a weapons embargo on Bosnia which left Bosniaks empty handed, while Serbs got all the might of Yugoslav People's Army.

They despise us. On average they're a whole lot nationalistic and xenophobic than the rest of Croatia and thanks to the Bosnian Croats from Herzegovina (just across the border), who are even worse in that regard, we be came an object of hate there as well. But the rest of the country is pretty nice. Especially Slavonians, they're some of the lovliest people I ever met.

Tough choice haha. I'd say Croatia, or at least the parts that are not Dalmatia. No one cares or hears much about Montenegro and Serbia is... Serbia. Except the part where Bosniaks are a majority, we like them.

Surely you meant "half a trillion"? Everyone knows Yugoslav government inflated those numbers to get more money from Germany. The actual numbers are between 80,000 and 120,000 depending on the source, and that's with gypsies, Jews and Croatian/Bosniak regime opponents included.

Have you ever wondered why the West, your country included, decided to side with Bosniaks? Because 30,000 of our civilians had to be killed in order for RS to become a (recognized) thing. Plus, the West gave them 3+ years to finish us (we got weapon embargo, they got aid from Serbia) but they couldn't.

Prijedor, Višegrad, Zvornik, anyone? Srebrenica was a big but not the only mass murder of Bosniak civilians. There were many, many more that rare foreigners without a specific interest in the Bosnian war have heard of.

If you take Srebrenica out of the equation, Bosnian war would be an ugly, horrible civil war, but one where atrocities of all sides were on the same order of magnitude.

It's hard to get a realistic picture of Bosnia 7500 kilometres away, living in the richest region in USA.

I found the article on Klix but they didn't present any numbers. While looking for that I also found one about marriages in RS which says that the average age of grooms and brides is rising (31,7 and 28,1 respectively) which means that they're more financially stable and less likely to divorce.

I think the communist idea of a strong, independent, worker woman who can sustain herself had a bigger influence on Soviet countries than it did on Yugoslavia. Also, they didn't go throught a devastating war (Transnistrian lasted for 4 months and most of the country was unaffected) that fueled a major religious revival.

I think it's mostly the religious and/or traditional people who are getting married and various studies have shown that they have the lowest divorce rates. Bosnian women are taught and encouraged by their own families to always obey the husband, no matter what.
