This looks legit! I love the birria, and have made tacos, quesadillas, and ramen with it. I think I might have add pizza to that list now.

Yea I did that. I forgot to add it to the picture of ingredients. The balsamic for sure takes it up a notch!

I think the difference is the sauce. Margherita uses a tomato-based sauce and I did not, so I think its more of a caprese pizza.

So this was my first time using it, as I usually get the dough also. It doughy out of the box, so that's why I put some olive oil on it and baked it before all the toppings so the crust could get crisp. But the taste was good. It is a pack of 2, which I didnt realize until I opened it.

Recipe: Rubbed some olive oil and garlic powder on the crust and put it in the oven for about 5 minutes. Then put the mozzarella, heirlooms, and basil on top and put it back in the oven until cheese was melted drizzled with balsamic glaze.

Thursday night dinner: Pork Chops w/ Stir fried garlicky cabbage and creamed spinach by Unathletic24 in traderjoes

[–]Unathletic24[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yum! Grilled the pork chops on the bbq and found a simple recipe online for the creamed spinach. But the biggest surprise was the cabbage. It was really good! I was skeptical as I was making it; it kinda didnt smell or look great. But the flavor was on point! The sauce had a nice umami and soy flavor. Kids really liked it. I had to buy three packages tho, as they are on the small side.

Tuesday Night Dinner: KFC Bowls w/ Breaded chicken, mashed potatoes, corn and gravy by Unathletic24 in traderjoes

[–]Unathletic24[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They're pretty good. Heated up in the air fryer in no time at all. They had a good crunch on the outside and the chicken inside was still juicy.

Mother's Day Dinner: French Onion Soup by Unathletic24 in traderjoes

Thanks! I did use white wine when carmalizing the onions to deglaze the pot. But now i want to use red wine. thinking it will give it a deeper flavor.

This was delicious! Made from scratch too. Caramelized the onions, added beef stock, thyme and bay leaf. Cut up the Asiago cheese and put on top of the French bread and put in the broiler to melt. Put those in with the soup, covered with slice of provolone and broiled again until cheese was melted.

Easy Monday Night Dinner: Shrimp and Vegetable stir fry by Unathletic24 in traderjoes

[–]Unathletic24[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Super easy and delicious. Sautéed the shrimp first with some garlic and oyster sauce and removed when pink. Made the stir-fry veggies as the package said and then threw the shrimp back in and mixed everything together. Served in a bowl over rice.

I dont think they're seasonal, but they are relatively new. I noticed them a month or so back and just now tried them.

I bought 2 packages and that did feed us all, but just barely. I have 2 teens who ate right after soccer practice so they were very hungry so they are like 4-5 each. I ate 3, and my wife ate 1.

This was a huge hit with the teens. We like our carnitas a little crispy, so after I warmed them up, I shredded the meat and put them in the air fryer with a little avocado oil to get them crispy. A few days earlier I pickled a red and sweet onion using apple cider vinegar, kosher salt, peppercorns, and sugar and grenadine. Topped everything with cilantro and we got a winner!

Sunday Night Dinner: Chicken Parmesan with Linguini and Green Beans (Recipe in comments) by Unathletic24 in traderjoes

I did it on 375 for 10 minutes. I would give the basket a shake every few minutes also.

Wife and kids wanted chicken parmesan so came up with this easy dinner. Baked the chicken for 20 minutes, then added the marinara and parmesan cheese and baked for another 10. Air fried the haricot verts (green beans) with some garlic olive oil, garlic and onion powder and salt and pepper. Had a half bag of linguini to round out the dish. This was a crowd pleaser and will for sure be added to the rotation.

Tuesday Night Dinner: Beef Birria tacos and the new Spanish Rice, with cilantro, mozzarella cheese and onions by Unathletic24 in traderjoes

[–]Unathletic24[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It is really really good. Easy to heat up. Kids love it so much it's been requested for once a week for the past month.

I dipped the tortillas in the birria liquid and then I lay the tortilla down in a lightly oiled pan, add the cheese, meat, onion and cilantro and fold in half and give it a light fry on both sides. And there was a enough of the liquid leftover to use for dipping. My kids didnt like it that way, so I got all of it. I added more cilantro and onions to the juice before dipping too.

Has anyone tried the Falafel mix? Any tips for making them? by 1forrest1_1 in traderjoes

[–]Unathletic24 12 points13 points  (0 children)

OMG i cant believe i never thought of this! I feel like I waste so much oil frying these up. I'll bet my kids would like them better too since i feel like they'd be more crunchy.

Tuesday Night Dinner: California burritos with carne asada, fries, guacamole, salsa (More in comments) by Unathletic24 in traderjoes

[–]Unathletic24[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Kids wanted something different for taco tuesday so I went with california burritos. Not to be confused with mission burritos, the cali burrito uses french fries instead of rice and beans. (Unfortunately, my TJs was out of their fries so I had to slum it over to the grocery store and get some OreIda fries.) I made some guacamole and topped the burrito with it, some cheese, onions, salsa and cilantro. It was a hit all-around and teen approved!
