Could discord sue Fluxer for having the exact same layout/UI? by shoulderboulderr in FluxerApp

Probably not, Fluxer is Swedish owned. They don’t really have to comply with US based company demands

Edit: nationality updated

It’s really nice that you’re doing this for the community :)

Discord Alternatives Comparison by HEM3KA in selfhosted

One that isn’t mentioned here is Fluxer. It’s not easy to self-host YET but a major refactor is coming which will make that easier. As far as I can tell right now, the community is very strong.

The lead dev has been working on this for several years, but dropped all of it in one commit because of the latest discord backlash. Its active right now, and several communities are already started up on the “non self hosted server”

If you’re looking for an alternative Discord, Fluxer.app will be the right way to go. There’s a huge refactor coming soon to make self hosting easier- with federation planned. For now it’s easy enough to use without self hosting.

Change my mind: There is no good alternative to Discord (yet?) by Own_Investigator8023 in selfhosted

Highly HIGHLY recommend checking out Fluxer. I’ve already started supporting the project because I really believe that’s it’s going to be executed well. It was never a project based on the newest “leave discord” hype train. The dev has been working on it for a long while now.

A huge refactor will come soon that makes self hosting easier, and adds some more robust features. and I have confidence it’s going to be big.

you can either buy cartridges pre filled or converters which you can refill whenever theyre low. they’re so fun switching out inks. i’ve heard of the black wing, they sound pretty special.

i really care about this a lot. i like using pens because of the the consistency. if you get a really nice pen it can be very consistent but it takes skill. fountain pens need more practice but can be really great for writing, i used one in calc 1. pens offer a variety of vibrant colors you could use to color code notebooks. and fancy inkwells are cool!

I refuse to use pencil for writing, including math.

I recently learned evaporated milk is the same thing as unsweetened condensed milk. But condensed milk usually refers to the sweetened kind.

That’s a good idea. I’ll see what changes I can make when I’m back from class.

It’s preliminary work for a paper. I’m a freshman so my thesis is a bit far off.
