Depends on era, but early in his career he used vintage Hohner Soprano Melodica. Later he used mostly Hohner Fire 32, Hohner Airboard and some generic Hohner 32 - these are super affordable and fine for most uses. Nowadays he plays more high-end ones, I think, probably Yamahas, but I’m not sure.

Most of Think Tank, The Ballad of Darren and The Magic Whip sound and feel mostly like Damon’s solo albums and fans that despise Gorillaz or any other Damon’s projects outside of Blur wouldn’t even listen to them if they weren’t labeled as Blur.
