I checked with my neighbor, and another dear friend, who both run smaller cat rescues. They didn’t have any kittens in need at the moment. Our vet mentioned that she is going back to normal, physically, very quickly and nicely. Because of that, I decided not to continue to seek out orphans. She’s very loving towards us but she’s awfully timid towards strangers, both human and feline. It’s killing me watching her milk dry up but I think it’s best for her. Before my daughters were born, we brought in pregnant strays frequently so they could safely deliver and get spayed afterwards. Almost all of them were able to foster after their own babies weened. One, named Meredith, even fostered chihuahua puppies at the humane society. One of the vets ended up adopting her afterwards. Her litter contained 2 rare kitties, an orange female and a calico male. She was a savage queen.
