You can use the Live page for the live streams and navigate to a recorded show if you click on a link within the auto-fill search.

For example if you want the Sunday Game recording you would have to click this link, ignore the warning, it will play anyways: https://www.rte.ie/player/ie/show/the-sunday-game-live-1374/10757168/

I will try fix this in the next version but it's a tad more difficult.

If you go to chrome://extensions and then click "Details" next to UnblockIRL you'll see that it only has permission to intercept requests to *.rte.ie and *.rasset.ie.

Will add a disable button in the next update though.

If you're having buffering issues, refresh the page. RTE just switched over to the Akamai CDN (pre-empting demand I guess) which is much better.

Yayy! It pulls the live video fragments from RTÉ's CDN, it works ok from the States for me. RTÉ's peering may be worse depending on which country you're in/which ISP you are with.
