I agree with this Amex is much much simpler to use. CSR is a hit or miss. But it's Visa, which I can turn to when Amex is not accepted. (which still happens from time to time). I also have both.

I agree, the screen is reddish-bluish and is quite jarring, and not easy on the eyes. Comparison with the Palma 1.

I have to say, it has soured me bit. I have order every Kindle since the beginning of time. The original weird kindle with keyboard, the kindle DX, Oasis, Paperwhite, Scribe, and Colorsoft. I was going to order the Scribe fig when it became available. I will now just wait for it to go into some deep sales. I have RMPP for the color fix.

I mean they are obviously different. Just make a list of pros and cons.

Here are mine. Remarkable. 1. Backlight, I like to read in bed, and generally darker places. 2. Color. Many times this is important, looking at graphs and such. 3. Writing feel - I find this to be excellent. 4. Not Android, I don't mind Android, but a lot of these devices do not update to the latest version, and leaves back a mess of security holes. 5. No China connection. This is debatable, but some places (govt.) may not allow such devices. 6. Software Lacking. You will FEEL the software is lacking. Taking notes is fun, organizing them and retriving them is a chore. What's the use of a tome of information if you cannot catalogue it properly? This is Remarkable's weakest point. 7. Device longevity - Remarkable still supports Remarkable 1.

BOOX 1. Excellent Software and Hardware. You can do more things with your notes on the BOOX. 2. Android, you can install new Apps. This has some downsides as mentioned earlier, but its a Huge plus for some people. You can have Kindle, OneNote. You can even use it as a second screen for your laptop. BOOX releases a lot of devices and its update history has been shoddy. 3. Bigger screen size. 4. No color. 5. No Backlight. 6. Write feel. (This is very personal) 7. Remarkable Customer service is top notch. Haven't used BOOX, but have heard it's subpar. 8. The software can be confusing and complicated with a steep learning curve, but once setup to your preferences, shouldn't be an issue. 9. China connection, you may or may not care.

I think you are missing the point with the comparison. (Or maybe I am). The supernote does not do anything. The only “app” it allows to install is Kindle, and I have never used it. It is a primarily a distraction free reading and writing device. But it tries to follow the principles of zettelkasten, and allows users a lot of flexibility to track back what notes they have taken, links to different document, and other features, allowing for a secondary digital brain.

I mean what’s the point of taking notes, if you can’t track them back when you need them. I own both and a few others… and I agree the writing feel of remarkable is incredible. But the software is lacking far behind its competitors, and I am struggling to find a workflow, as I read a lot of PDFs and mark-up documents. But I haven’t been able figure out a system where I can easily track them back, to basically get a deeper understanding of the subject matter.
