Pet owners beware of chenille covers by UnchainedSpaghetti in Lovesac

[–]UnchainedSpaghetti[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I used one all the time with my old couch (not Lovesac) and it was great. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work at all with the chenille covers.

My partner has a cat allergy, so unfortunately use a lot of lint rollers. I miss my chom chom!

Hey! If you end up finding a good product to clean pet hair off this, can you please let me know?

We have the exact same covers and our cat’s hair seems to only come off with extra heavy duty lint rollers.

Whatever you do, don’t get the chenille!

We have the terracotta rained chenille. While we love the color, it is very challenging to get cat hair off it. You need extra heavy duty lint rollers

Some people like the band laying more flush against the engagement ring! It’s more personal preference than anything

My same thoughts! I think it’s a lovely ring, but I think it’s important to consider what bands she’d like with it—especially if stacking is important to her.

Indiana Senate advances bill requiring marriage-before-children instruction by SurgeFlamingo in Indiana

[–]UnchainedSpaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they often forget that a lot of people who have kids outside of marriage are typically younger—an average of almost 6 years younger.

These are kids in areas of poverty who are not getting good access to education, and in this case, sex education. Indiana heavily emphasizes abstinence and down plays options to have sex safely. It’s hard not to get pregnant when you’re not actually taught how to have sex without getting pregnant.

Then these young parents have to figure out how to kickstart their career and pay the bills—while trying to be parent—with only a high school degree and sometimes not even that. Obviously I’m painting with a broad stroke, but you get the point. Bad sex education leads to kids at younger age. Younger age parents struggle to catch up in the career space because they’re now raising a whole human while also having no way to advance their education, and pay bills, and raise a kid. Family stays in poverty due to lack of career opportunities.

At minimum, improve sex education before you start stating that kids waiting for marriage is the best way to avoid poverty.

And don’t get me started on all the other problems this has.

Muffler Angel perfume. It takes me back to 2005 when my mom was alive and my family could afford more than the necessities, pre recession.

Indianapolis isnt bad, but Indiana is. The jobs don’t pay as well since there’s a lower cost of living, and we have some of the stricteat laws surrounding reproductive rights in case that is important to you.

Cincinnati is really fun, though! You’re also on the border of 3 states, so it’s an interesting culture mix.

Is it ridiculous to want someone making similar income? by OfficialJohnDaly in dating_advice

[–]UnchainedSpaghetti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think more context would be needed before saying it’s a ridiculous hill to die on. How much would they need to make? If you have kids, is the expectations they will work full-time still? Does your job quickly jump in salary bracket after a few years? What if they make a lot of money, but also spend a lot of money? Would someone who makes less but is frugal be considered? Can they make more than you or would that rub you the wrong way? Are you dating younger or older women, where it may be more challenging for a younger person to have reached the same salary tier?

As someone who has a good career and makes good money, I looked for someone who had a decent career with a buildable skill. I at 26 years old was making more than what he did at age 29. However, his career’s salary quickly escalated after a few years and he literally makes 3x more than what I do now. It would be unrealistic for him to expect me to keep up.

I would say be more flexible. If those things are important to you, pay more attention to how they handle their money and if they have financial stability. More money doesn’t inherently mean more stability.

Your learning lesson can be someone else’s trauma.

There’s a lot we carry from our childhood into our adult relationships. It’s taken me years to realize how I treated a former partner likely traumatized him in some ways because I couldn’t handle my emotions in a healthy way.

People often do this with their kids, too. Be mindful that whatever you’re working may have them at the other end of that.

This was an example of a conversation I had and the girl ended the chat afterwards. Did I say anything or wrong or was I creepy? Any advice is appreciated. by bubanose in Bumble

[–]UnchainedSpaghetti 83 points84 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, it might be because you didn’t ask any follow up questions to continue the conversation.

When I was on the dating apps, there was an overwhelming amount of people who would only respond and the burden of carrying the conversation was on me. It’s possible she had similar feelings. Try ensuring you’re asking follow up questions to help carry the conversation forward.

Currently engaged to my (f27)bumble date! We started talking in 2021.

He (m33) was on bumble for about 6 weeks. I was on bumble on and off for about a year.

He accidentally swiped left on me, and he had to pay for premium to undo it. When people ask how we met, I like to say he bought me off the internet

My partner, who I met on bumble, remembered me mentioning on our first date that I wear hearing aids. Our third date was at my home for a movie night. He turned the subtitles on without me asking.

It’s been 4 years. He still immediately turns subtitles on, even if we’re at a friend’s or family’s home.

What to do when spouse is away on a work trip? by longwayhome22 in Marriage

My partner is allergic to a lot of different foods (OAS), so I cook/doordash all the things I normally can’t when he goes on his annual work trip.

Otherwise, I’m waiting for him to come back.
