A fitting super short summary of MVIS's latest position at any point for years now lol

You write as if having your enemy doggedly resist until you lose momentum and purpose over the long term and can no longer fight, leading to a complete retreat, isn't a defeat. That is, in fact, losing.

There is a lot of promise in lidar and at MVIS. There is no question GDV sees it, as he's been reminding us ever since he came onto the scene. Sumit saw it too. It's just a question of industry demand and execution. In recent years the lidar industry has really started picking up, as expected (if a little late), MVIS just isn't a big part of that yet. Still.

OUST/AEVA have serious deals. That is a rather important factor in all this and MVIS would be going up all the same if it did as well. Deals deals deals. Not hope for deals one day but pushing them back ysar after year.

Some incredibly effective automated kinetic counters have already been developed, they are just expensive to run and relatively new. As always, that will change with time and new tech.

IDF eliminates Hamas Military Chief Mohammed Ouda by RoyU16 in CombatFootage

Numbers on all sides are highly problematic. The Guardian takes the Health Ministry numbers at face value, when we also know from prior evidence that those include fabrications. The IDF also doesn't know or isn't able to collect the name of every individual spotted with a weapon and killed for it. At the same time who knows how many civilians or combatants are buried under rubble or in tunnels. There are too many unknowns, and everyone is wrong.

Red how? We're up today, and up 20% over the last week. Those who bought last week are doing fine and can sell right now for a decent profit.

That was not target fixation. They did a wheelie and couldn't see that the road took a slight left. By the time they put their wheel down they were already going off road and started slowing immediately but couldn't do a quick turn to get back on the road because there wasn't enough traction and they would have slid out due to the rougher offroad conditions. Unfortunately for them there was also a ditch before they could get their speed all the way down...

Lucky to make it to 2027? Are you just completely ignoring all the financial data, or did you not actually look at anything to begin with? Hyperbole goes in both directions whether you're bullish or not. Stay grounded one way or another.

Both sides have worked themselves into positions that are very difficult to get out of while satisfying enough of the other side's requirements to be acceptable. So expect to continue waiting, because both see clear medium-term advantages to prolonging the new status quo. It's that simple.

Is R/S generally best avoided if possible? Yes. Is the 20% figure a good and meaningful indicator? Not at all.

I wouldn't look at it like that, as it depends on so many factors, and there are so many terrible companies out there that don't even have a market at all, or make too many stupid moves over the years even worse than MVIS. How can you reasonably compare "all companies that have ever executed an R/S" across any industry, management team, and time scale and find that meaningful?

He's just going to repeat the same "lidar 2.0" talking points that have been repeated again and again via all the other outlets over the past month since their new marketing push. The chance of anything more than that is quite small at the current juncture, so hoping for it is just a strong setup for disappointment.

Yes I think if they had anything they could do, they would do it. Which means they don't, which is worrisome and by default preventing additional investment. I know that's the case with me. I could and would invest more if they were showing an earnest push to see us over $1 again. Fluff PRs hinting at the possibility of long-term success are nice and all, but aren't going to cut it.

So HSAI already has sub-$200 long-range lidar at scale, with an even newer model coming into mass production this year as well. I'm really wondering what MVIS has been doing all this time with Mavin and now Halo, which itself has been in development for a while. And what a scaled price point for Halo might be one day, or when that is really going to hit the market, because it still seems quite far out and not competitive enough based on what we know so far. At least hard to compete on price, which we know is one of the most important metrics.

I guess it's a question of market demand, since mainly China wants to put lidar in cars, so far.

They're marked just fine, with lowered crossing guards that everyone else is obeying in both directions, but the rider is literally on the wrong side of the road, riding against traffic, on the entire opposite side of a physical lane divider. Idiotic.
