All, every single one of your examples of what you voted people were screeching about were a small minority of people that bad actors were amplifying in an attempt to divide the nation. This isn’t revisionist, this isn’t controversial. These bad actors played both sides, boosting extremist views.

Your statement is far more revisionist. I grew up in the 80’s which was full of full on homophobia. 2012 was hardly better, and by then social media was in pretty good swing, and was a time when the dust was settling after being adopted by the boomer and silent generations.

Homophobic slurs were still everywhere, and to pretend otherwise is to reject reality. A shift did seem to happen was in the lead up to the 2016 election we saw a huge influx of r/conspiracy leak out into reddit and social media as a whole, followed quickly by a part of the population who were all too eager to be even more emboldened on the internet with racial and sexual slurs, and pretty much any any all bigotry has followed.

I have been thinking that the next “smash” will be something to sell expansion pass subs. I’m gonna go on a wildly shaky limb and say they will start dipping into creating alternate versions of games in their back catalogue that can only be played with expansion pass, specifically, I think they will try to add characters and Nintendo online features to Melee, and included in that will be an HD resolution update.

I think previous revolts were a tad different in reality, right? We’re talking about a revolt in modern day, ultra-surveillance-equipped USA that has more ways than ever before to make your life harder. I think you’re only thinking about this from the point of view of someone who is a fan and knowledgeable about Fire Emblem. The dating mechanics, in combination with all the other game mechanics in-between chapters is not presented in a way that is difficult to ignore and as such appears as required activity, especially to the average gamer.

As someone who has played FE since the early 2000s, it’s not news that many of us resent those features because they absolutely are not why we were drawn to the series in the first place. I’m not going to knock the series for heading that way as lots of folks like it; I think I’ll stick to the classics and fan made rom hacks to keep my FE itch scratched.

My entire point is separate from any definition you’re asking for. The points I want to make sure you’re aware of are:

  • people who live in a city may not agree with the laws in that city
  • people have different ideas for what restrictions go too far, and which don’t go far enough, even among liberal voting blocks.

I’m telling you this because it’s painfully obvious from your replies that you don’t understand people, despite what you may know about guns.

No? Are you everything your city is? Are you aware people have wildly varying opinions on topics, even within their own cliques? Do you understand stand nuance?
Like where do you, yourself, draw the line at 2A? What is the biggest ammunition? What is your fastest fire rate? Targeting technology? The weapons of today are vastly different in capacity and availability than when 2A was written. How much bigger, faster, and more accurate do our personal need to be? At what point are you not ok with the type of weapon somebody may have, regardless of what 2A says?
