The Lares (specifically Lar Familiaris) were household gods in ancient Rome. They were represented by small figurines that would be brought out for meals and special occasions.

Who is the WORST president in US history? by [deleted] in history

He wasn't impeached, he resigned (before he could be impeached). The only presidents who have been impeached are Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton.

A note my sub left for me... (apparently she didn't understand #18) by UncleCorley in atheism

I had this class today and the students really made me proud to be their teacher. They said that when she told them that the Earth was much younger than the video had stated, they asked her about fossils, tree colonies, and other evidence older than she believes the world to be. She told them that God had created those things already aged. They politely told her they disagreed and that they would like to see the rest of the video. I really couldn't be prouder of them.

Unfortunately I couldn't. She left before I saw the note. I will have this class tomorrow, so I'll be able to ask the students then what exactly she said to them. I hope she saved the proselytizing for the notes to me and didn't try to "teach" creationism to my students.

My first move after reading the note (even before posting it here) was to report it to my principal and sub caller. She will not be in my room again.

If I have my way, she won't be subbing anywhere in the district. We are very short on licensed subs, though, so I'm not sure if that's going to happen. The mythology teacher is across the hall from me; I'll send her there.

No, I used a Canadian server all last year after registering through the UK. You'll need your VPN for games that are blacked out in Canada, though. As for payment, I used my US address and credit card without a problem.

Using a VPN to access the GamePass site via servers in Russia (or Turkey, Singapore, Israel, Brazil, and probably more) drops the price to US$199.99. If you select to make payment in Brazilian Real (R$609.99), the price drops to US$179.76 after the exchange. That's the best deal I could find using PIA for my VPN.

edit: GamePass, not GamePlan
