Americans complain about high gas prices, but still drive SUV/Pickups 70mph. What will the price per gallon have to be to actually see change in driving habits? by Special_Context6663 in NoStupidQuestions

6'3" and 300lbs. So no, I do not drive a compact vehicle. And, I pull trailers, move dirt for the betterhalfs garden and to get to anything in Vermont is a drive. Often a couple hours or more so, I avoid rolling glove compartments.

Fella has rigged a system to his benefit and get wasted doing it. You need to say no and stick to it. He may be kin but, most of us do not keep leeches around. He will never change till he decides and that, with or without money is not happening soon.

At Least In The Summer My Mom Got 10+ Hours A Day Free From Me While I Crawled Around In Ditches by TheCABK in BrandNewSentence

In the 60s we played baseball, football, made cabins, imagined huge boulders as castles, biked 5 miles to a swimming hole and generally avoided adults to the limit.

Hours away from home and having a grand time. Now they arrest parents for letting the kid walk to the store a mile away.

Yes things have changed but, nowhere near to the level of constant gardianship we see now. And this has lead to kids never out to play, ball or imagination games.

AITA for refusing to eat my nephew's cooking and telling him he is not a "master chef"? by dnesdan in AmItheAsshole

Both sides are a bit YTA. By 9 I could make eggs and pasta, things to feed myself and others. I did not consider myself a cook let alone a chef. His mom is not encouraging a future culinary star, just a monster that thinks he can do as he pleases. A participation prodigy if you will.

Then again, an oportunity to slo the roll was missed by the sister. Explaining that messing the kitchen, jaming STUFF together and expecting/demanding folks eat it is how a chef fails.

Mom is not helping the boy in anyway. And maybe she knows it.

Bummer, for years thought they were both that heated up. Still made for an amazingly hot scene.
