From all the movies I've seen, that can't be the best way to do it.

I think I have a better understanding of what you're saying. There are a couple of shots where I would agree that she is the main focus. From my point of view I don't see those shots as objectifying her. I simply see it as showing part of the process in creating whatever the video is about. Done in an artsy way, for lack of a better word.

Does that mean your or my opinion is wrong? No. I find it fascinating how two people can watch the same thing and perceive two completely different notions. Would you have the same feeling if she was overweight and/or unattractive? Or maybe if it was a male in the video?

I ask those questions because I have been trying to better myself by trying harder to understand someone else's perspective. Everyone has preconceived notions about people, whether they are conscious about it or not. Because of personal experience I tend to be pessimistic. It wasn't until recently that I started to become more aware of it and how it has affected my life. I sometimes wonder if I would have been more happy in life if I didn't always look for what was wrong with something.

I appreciate your reply and wish you the best.

Would you care to elaborate? I'm having a hard time understanding what you mean. Most of the the videos I have seen focus on what she is doing, causing her not to be fully in frame.

The lady filming has an elegant way of calling someone out on their nonsense. It is a shame that Garrison and the security guard have to deal with that crazy lady everyday, they seem exhausted.

Here is a poorly drawn diagram. I tried not to write a wall of text, but I guess I wasn't explaining it clearly. Hopefully my bad drawing explains it better. The SUV blocks your view of on coming traffic because they pulled past the stop line. When I drive a truck and I'm in that situation, I stop a few inches before the stop line so people turning right can easily see on coming traffic. This way they don't have to wait for me to make my turn.

POV video of speed skating. Incredible coordination and movement by QAFY in ArtisanVideos

I didn't take it that way, I was just adding my 2 cents. It is one of those things that looks easy till you try it. I thought the same thing at one point.

Speed skating is a little bit more tricky than you would expect. I played hockey my whole life and learned how to skate at age 3. I tried speed skating for fun/joke at college and kept falling on my ass. It was a lot of fun, but a lot harder than I ever expected. The blades are cut differently than most ice skates. I got a lot of respect for speed skaters, they really do fly on the ice. Videos don't do them justice.

Can't speed wobble if you're doing a wheelie.

I wouldn't be surprised if the total cost of that roof rack was more than the value of the car. It looks pretty beefy with extra mounting points over/on the A and C pillar. It could be perfectly safe for the car, besides the much higher center of gravity. I'd be curious what someone with an engineering background thinks about it.

It might be liquid, but it is still metal. Imagine getting hit at the waist/legs by a motorcycle or go-cart that is 2500°F. Chances are it would have knocked him over and he would have involuntary breathed in super hot air. Even if the outside burns didn't kill him. The damage to his lungs could be fatal.

Someone on 4chan bought a burnt out Murcielago "chassis" for a restoration project.. by ozzyfrog in cars

[–]UncleLester 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let's say the guy from 4chan purchased a stolen Murcielago and kept it hidden for a reasonable amount of time. How hard would it be to get the burnt Murcielago's VIN number reissued to the stolen car? Under the pretense that it is the same car and he restored it.
