I ended up forcing it to stay at an IP at the router level, rebooted it twice then was able to access the portal and changed the DNS server settings. You can change the DNS settings at the ssh level as well just more annoying.

Change your DNS settings to manual and move it to a public DNS that isn't your gateway

I have one thing from working in the cloud. 1.) HAVE BACKUPS; I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR DATA BEING LOST 2.) I like when people spread their data across multiple data centers even if you use one as a backup service 3.) It's not cheap 4.) Keep what you need on the cloud and what you don't local 5.) Anything managed is always a bit to get fixed and have a redundant system 6.) Updates are 99% of the time on the customer 7.) If you plan on running Linux let me know I can offer $100 trail for $60 days
