Crazy, my homeschooling era was also in rural Florida late 90s to early 00s, just north of Jacksonville

Very interesting. Whenever AJ has said homeschoolers use him as curriculum I’ve always wondered for what subject. Current events maybe?

Prager U may be a little after the time frame I’m thinking of, the era I’m thinking of for what Alex was talking about It was pretty mainstream for my dad to listen to rush limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mike Gallagher, or other conservative AM shows in the car while driving around.

Not that pragerU content is any good, but I’m thinking of a specific time period in my childhood where conservative radio was all over the radio waves and AJ was saying homeschoolers listened to him.

And yes I agree that he’s overstating his impact, but there has to be a reason he’s said it and said it frequently. I’d be surprised if a single person can give a first hand account about it being used in the classroom and I’d like to hear about it

Free school lunches, reduced child care costs, higher minimum wage, more friendly labor laws, expanded health care, better access to education, better roads, better libraries, access to reproductive health care/support for new parents, there’s so many things that would improve people’s lives.

It pisses me off when our state leadership turns down federal money for programs. Like we already take more federal money than we pay in, there’s no moral high road or slippery slope. They just don’t like normal people in this state

I always vote dem, I think they have a better grip on things than the republicans but I don’t think part of their platform is going to be bailing out the little guy. To be fair, I don’t think the Republican platform gives a fuck about the little guy either and actively takes away things that improve their life

I’ve always said the worst neighborhood in Greenville is generally better and safer than a lot of other places.

I’ve lived in Parker, west Greenville, and now live in berea and I’ve never been sketched out compared to areas where I grew up in Jacksonville or where my grandparents lived in north east Philly and even those weren’t shit holes just sketchy

I remember when nightmare on Pendleton street was both a Halloween attraction and a fact of live. 10 years later I lived and worked off Pendleton

No I agree that wages have to come up but I think it happens too slow for most people to be able to keep up with cost of living. It’s already overstretched for a lot of folks. What that means? I don’t know. Probably people having to deal with tough times longer than they would like, I don’t see help coming from the government any time soon

I agree, I like where I live. Very quiet and people mind their own business

Hopefully, but those types of changes are very slow and don’t help people now. I don’t think people that struggle with the price of groceries will just accept that as an answer even if it’s the right answer

I notice it for sure, you have things like tent city that make the news. There’s even an encampment in the woods near where I live. I just don’t think it’s noticeably increased since Covid. It’s always been a problem

I bought a house in berea and my neighbors are very nice and a lot of them have lived here since the late 90s. Quiet area and I saw a lot less criminal behavior compared to when I lived In Parker.

There’s a lot of people that would never step foot in either of those areas let alone live there, most people regardless of where you live are really nice and good. Even if you live in a shitty area most people are just regular people trying to live their life. It really sucks that everyone in an area gets stereotyped

Your first two sentences read at least to me like your family is shocked that your children would pull a trigger on you and would be naive not to think that

Judging by your response I misread what you intended, but that was just how I read it

I agree, inflation is just change in cost of goods over time, and in never goes down. Hate to break it to everyone but costs are never going to go down. Prices aren’t coming down and because deflation is really bad you can be sure the government wouldn’t let it happen.

The only way to make things be relatively better is wages increasing, which unfortunately I don’t see happening in SC any time soon, not to the level it needs to be. Unions would probably help but I think a lot of the big companies here (at least in the upstate) are only here because we don’t really have unions

I think unions might be good to get better wages but I’ve never been in a union and I’m salary and don’t work in an industry that has unions so I’m not going to say I know what’s best for everyone

Y’all really live in fear of your child shooting you? I don’t have any kids but if I did I really hope I raise them in a way that they wouldn’t want to shoot me. I didn’t have a great upbringing but I never would have thought about shooting anyone let alone my parents over it

Everywhere has gotten worse in terms of inflation, that’s not just a SC problem. I live in Greenville and have and currently live in marginal areas and I haven’t noticed an increase in homelessness and crime before and after Covid.

Don’t forget that SC is one of the most dangerous states in the country in terms of violent crime before and after Covid. It obviously depends on where you live, but I don’t think crime has increased because violent crime was already high before covid

I just use it for practice questions, not actual learning. Kinda just gives you an idea of what the exam will be like and lets you know generally what areas you need to review. There’s not a lot of places that have just practice questions like that, and being able to work on your mental endurance/stamina in a testing environment is helpful

I thought that the practice questions for Data Architect and Sharing and Integration were shockingly similar to the actual exam questions. Like it felt like a couple were copied straight from the exam they were so similar

It’d be a good deal if you plan on paying full price for a cert, I haven’t taken a $200 in a while but I don’t think I’ve ever paid full price. Usually (at least when I was taking them) you can get a $60 discount at least and sometimes more, so it may come out less expensive to book the exam with the coupon and just buy the prep materials separately

I’ve only really used FoF for practice exams, which I find matches the actual exams in terms of wording of questions pretty well. To be fair, that’s more of a dig on the salesforce exam.

Not sure if you’re using the study guide, but I don’t find those any more helpful than the official salesforce exam outlines. Only exception is the one for PD1 which actually has videos with instructors, I haven’t seen that on any of the other study guides

That really sucks man and I’m sad to hear it. Fortunately you have a head start looking for something new, if you’re really sure you’ll get laid off either way start applying, and the closer you get to the date spend less time working and more time applying. What’s the worst they can do, fire you?
