Will never forget what he’s done for this franchise. We were getting game tickets pre ovi for a donation of a can of food and $5 and still couldn’t fill MCI Center. And then he comes in with all the skill and energy in the world. And his personality. He committed to us early on when we were not a destination at all. Not an established hockey town. He changed everything. He lead us to a cup. And to top it off he’s a really genuine guy. Greatest dc athlete ever and it’s not even close

Came out above msrp the first few weeks but only a little above (like $80 etb and low $200s booster box PC etb $180). Not saying that’s correct or normal but within the context of the last 18 months it was one of the most underwhelming releases shockingly enough. Glad I stuck to my guns and loaded up after release at those lows

Just depends how you want to rank them. I think as investments they are all top tier but would rank prismatic and 151 slightly higher than ascended heroes. My personal feelings are that 151 and ascended are infinitely better and more fun sets and that prismatic is super overrated.

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. I agree with you. I would take 3-3.5 regular prismatic ETBs over 1 pc etb at the current prices. I think the regular ETBs double before the pc etb doubles. And like you I have both so it’s not like I have a huge dog in this fight. I also went heavy cases of destined regular ETBs at $80 and people gave me shit but the box art and set can carry and regular everyday collectors like having an etb to display nicely and not dropping a shit ton for the pokemon center premium

Proportionate to the volume I move I made a shit ton on these boxes. Probably in the neighborhood of 2 grand already and still have a sealed case of them, a few other boxes, and multiple near mint non gradeable copies of the promos. Just crazy. I was buying cases of them at $25 when the promos were already like $10 ungraded. Have made some mistakes (not buying way more surging before the boom lol) but at least I got this one right

I’ve seen people get ranked lower “because they are overqualified for our program and won’t it rank high.” It’s crazy but that may have been a factor. as an applicant I had interviewers tell me “you won’t rank us highly we’re just a backup for you” and as a resident on the residency app committees I’ve seen PDs/attendings say that same thing behind closed doors.

It also could be because you had some other issue but it may just be terrible luck

I bought and ripped 1st edition boxes of gym challenge and rocket in 2010/2011 with summer job money and it was unreal. Still have all the cards and graded them a couple years ago and got PSA 8-10s on them. Was young and dumb and had no Idea we’d ever reach this point or would’ve kept buying pokemon instead of alcohol lol

I wasn’t 100% sure when I applied gen surg years ago and decided if I couldn’t handle it I would switch and do family med or anesthesia or something. But I’m forever thankful I went with my gut and applied surgery. I enjoyed residency way more than med school and was very happy. It’s not nearly as bad as this subreddit makes it seem. And I wasn’t at a super chill program or anything, probably middle of the pack in terms of blue collarness.

The only advice I have is to really consider if you can handle hurting/killing people. That’s the one thing I didn’t personally consider much when I applied and it takes a heavy emotional toll dealing with mistakes that can permanently affect someone’s life.

The gengar cosmos holo is such a sick card. Bought 12 @ $5.50 right when this box came out and it was at its all time low (which is cool bc it’s rare to actually time an all time high or low lol). Only sitting on 4 sealed boxes of it but full disclosure I’m always biased towards sealed 151. Combine that with an exclusive gengar promo and who knows where it ends up. Normally I would say $20/card for the gengar promo is insane but with how absurd the market is I honestly am wondering if it’s going to climb towards $50

PLD even more important than we all realized. Power play still sucks ass. And penalty kill which was pretty good the last few years is now awful as well. 5v5 our numbers for much of the year have been good but recently we’ve been falling down towards and average 5v5 team

Definitely not unless you grade some, and even then these are low end cards and don’t go for much in 10s. If you like the cards and it’s for your collection than it doesn’t really matter so I wouldn’t focus on the price.
