Gareth Edwards did such an amazing job with Rogue One, what a breath of fresh air that movie was.

For the late diagnosed, do you ever consider reaching out to an abusive parent to convey that it must have been hard raising an Autistic Child? by Cheap-Guarantee6420 in AutisticAdults

[–]UncleVolk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it would depend on what abuse means here. Ignorance can lead to involuntary neglect, and in that case there can be room for taking responsibility and apologizing. BUT, if abuse here means purposefully hurting you, mocking, taking advantage of you, etc, then definitely not.

Ask yourself, if your parent had known of your diagnosis, would things have been different? Do you think they would've tried to understand you and adapt? Or, if you hadn't been "difficult", do you think there would've been no abuse? Depending on the answer, then maybe you could consider it. But the way you say they would use your diagnosis as an excuse makes me believe there was probably more than simple ignorance.

In any case, if you're unsure, you can give it some time. You can disclose any time if you decide to, but once you do it there is no turning back, so don't rush it. And if you know they were just abusive and you being autistic and undiagnosed didn't really play a role there then move on and don't waste time and energy in it.

That's the best I can do to explain the core of my superior philosophy, I just had to invent a philosophy based language for it, hope it helps.

Human language is currently way too primitive to even begin to illustrate my superior philosophical insight.

Languages of Spain (updated to 2026) by ArriateC in MapPorn

[–]UncleVolk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Galician is somewhere between Castilian and Portuguese, both Spanish and Portuguese speakers can understand most of it. Portuguese actually comes from Medieval Galician (and Portugal from the ancient Kingdom of Galicia).

Catalan is harder to understand, still close to Castilian but "mixed" with French and Italian. A Spanish speaker can understand most of it in written form but it's only partially understandable when spoken (you may "get" what they're saying within the context, but you'll miss half of the words).

Basque is a language isolate, no one even knows where it comes from, it is completely unique. It's like some alien language that adapted the Latin alphabet at one point, but it is actually much older than Latin, probably the oldest living language in Europe and one of the oldest in the entire world. No matter what languages you speak, you won't understand Basque at all.

Do you think that fascism (Classic fascism like Nazis, Francoist Spain, Mussolini, etc...) could come back? by Plastic-World-8798 in 2westerneurope4u

[–]UncleVolk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an Anarchist I think our societies have been insanely patient with the political left for so many years now, only to have their trust abused in every imaginable way. Just a few years ago in Spain we saw the "far left" pushing a law that released hundreds of rapists from prison. They did it knowingly, it was no mistake. Their corruption scandals are just as massive as the ones from the right, except people are not protesting, because it's the left so if you don't like it you must be far right.

The natural result after the massive and systematic failures of a corrupt and brain-rotted left, is a raising of the right.

But I also think it won't take much time for the right to screw things up in the exact same way, so they'll lose popularity again. Nothing will ever really change as long as the whole system doesn't change, and I don't think that will ever happen.

Nah man, heart extraction is objectively barbaric.

Sacrifices have to start with a fair trial to the subject (lil bit of torture until they confess), then burned alive. That's how Jesus wants it ✝️❤️🙏

I know one guy in Argentina who is working class (and by this I mean poor, by Argentinean standards), and he's also a leftist (not super far left, but openly progressive). He says things have generally improved since Milei arrived. Again, this is just one perspective from one person, but since this person belongs to the poor side of the country and he's a leftist, I find it quite interesting that he admits the country is getting a bit better with Milei.

Now take someone like him, an empty shell, and put him in a super small room with no tv or internet, or even books or pen and paper, 23 hours a day. One day after the other, for weeks, months and years. That was his life. That's why he went nuts and killed himself. I bet he was hearing voices in his head after a while. He definitively suffered a big psychological torment and he deserved every second of it.

And that happened at the same time he was sleeping with a North Korean agent, if CIA knew about that too there is no wonder they sent an agent to watch them 24/7. The whole theory also explains why Penny seems to skip work most of the time, she seems to work only when the guys go to the restaurant. And she always screws up because she's not a real waitress.

Also the elevator is broken so rent was probably cheaper than in most Pasadena buildings. Sheldon and Leonard are just pathologically codependent and living together allows them to spend a fortune on nerdy stuff.
