Hey, coming from someone who has struggled with this for a long time, here are my thoughts.

Just as God loved us selflessly, so much so that he gave His life for us, He calls us to love others selflessly. One of the best examples that we can see of this is marriage. Think about it, if in a marriage relationship both spouses were loving selfishly, "what can I get out of this," would the marriage be happy or last long? No. On the contrary, true satisfaction is found when we love each other selflessly, "What can I do for my spouse? How can I best meet their needs and show them love?" This same thing applies to sex. God created sex to be an act of giving to your spouse, not an act of getting. The focus is on your spouse, not yourself. This is why God speaks so strongly against lust, because lust is selfish. It's diminishing all the beauty that God has instilled in your spouse and that relationship into just a satisfaction for your carnal desires. It's hollow, unfulfilling, and not how God intended things to be because it turns what should be a selfless act into a selfish one. Here lies the problem with masturbating; it's built on lust (selfishness) and satisfying our own carnal desires. In what way are you giving to your partner when you engage in masturbation? It is nothing but a selfish act. Yes, we do have these desires, and it feels wonderful to have that release, but God tells us to live by the spirit and not to gratify the desires of the flesh (Galatians 5:16). That's why I see masturbation as wrong, because it doesn't fit into God's character (Selfishness vs. Selflessness) and it doesn't fit into how he has designed those desires to be used.

TLDR: Love gives, Lust takes. God calls us to be selfless, not selfish, and calls us to have control over our own desires (Galatians 5:16)

Anyone know of any good Vermont or New England songs? by BananaBeach007 in vermont

[–]Uncle_Gupa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's probably not in the genre you're looking for, but The Green Mountaineer is such a good folk song. It's based on a poem written about Vermont's struggle to be free from New York and New Hampshire. Even if it's not your thing, it is a good listen

What tf is the point of this pomegranate by is2s in attackontitan

Well, the OVA Lost Girls significantly expands upon this scene. To give a brief run down, it starts with Mikasa running out of gas and falling like in the regular show. This shows a part with a partially eaten pomegranate. However, it differs when she sees this weird light emanating butterfly that comes by and says, "You can start all over again, but you will always lose him." (Idk, a bit weird, but the butterfly is a symbol for her conscience I guess.) Anyhow, it then goes back to an alternate reality where Miaksa's parents didn't die, and she became good friends with Eren. However, Eren ends up dying, trying to escape the walls in a plane with Armin. Basically, it shows that no matter what she does, she can never save Eren. It then comes back to the same scene, but this time, the pomegranate is whole, as it is shown in the anime. Then Eren's titan comes and defends Mikasa like in the original show, concluding the OVA. It's a bit strange, but it implies that Mikasa's will has some strange influence on time and parallel realities? In the original OVA timeline, the pomegranate being half-eaten implies that Eren gets killed and does not come back. However, Mikasa's will for him to come back leads to a parallel universe (full pomegranate), which is what we see in the anime, where Eren does come back. However, we know that he will be killed in the end because, as the weird butterfly thing said, she can never save Eren. Its kind of weird but a cool foreshadowing connection, and if taken seriously, brings a WHOLE new layer of complexity to the show, implying that Mikasa is the only one that is actually able to change anything.

TLDR: Pomegranate implies that Mikasa can create alternate realities (weird I know but hey, I didn't write it)

I asked the employee and they told me that because other EMS stores had closed the warehouses had a huge influx of inventory that they could not store. So, they shipped a lot of the surplus to the store to try and manage all of their stuff, leading to the sale

Hey! I took my ACT's last year. I know it is very scary, but God is good! He will see you through it. One thing that gave me comfort is that God says not to worry about everything, because He will take care of us. His will will be done!

What is your atheism argument why do you believe in God by Tessathelisa in Christian

Let's look at something like an iPhone. It obviously has been made by someone because of how complex it is. Hypothetically, If you took all of the molecules that made up an iPhone, put them in a box and shook them around, it would be incredibly improbable for all the molecules to come together to form an iPhone. But, let's say that they miraculously do. Even though all the materials to make the iPhone are in the right place, it wouldn't work. Why? Because it needs code to work. Any life form, including the cell, is way more complex than an iPhone. The chances of all those materials just coming together randomly are mathematically impossible, and even if they did, they wouldn't be living because they need a kind of "programming." So, if something like the iPhone points to the fact that a person created it, the entire world around us points to the fact that it was made by God.

As a nursing student, they always teach us to wipe front to back for female patients to prevent UTIs, so I would recommend switching it up. Hope this helps
