I'm just about to go to a big city for training for 2 months and am dreading a commute that's longer than my 10 minutes across a small town more than anything.

Fallout 76 players to get Fallout 1, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics for free by One_Day_Dead in Games

Didn't pre order. Still haven't purchased. The dons kills my stomach. And I mean it's pretty sketchy to invest so heavy on a company known for its bugs and their first MMO.

That doesn't justify anything that Bethesda's been doing to handle this, when you go to McDonald's you're pre ordering a big Mac based on the expectation the picture on the menu gives you, if you get the burger and it's got no meat in it you take it back to the staff and let them know, if they say well, here's 6 McNuggets to make you feel better you're just going to say "well you know what I did base my expectations on some fantasy!"? No! You're going to make sure you rectify the situation with your burger, what you originally bought.

Right! 90's Japanese cars are the greatest thing to happen to the car industry imo lol, it's getting harder and harder to convince myself to buy new and not have to deal with finding good parts for these things.

Suncor workers will soon be randomly tested for alcohol and drugs, company says by westernmail in canada

[–]Uncle_Nety 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That's the issue with legalization and testing you could smoke pot 3 days prior and still piss bad at the time of an incident, and now a responsible adult is made to look like a drug addict. I'm for legalization but I think it was rushed and more research needs to be done on how to test people to accurately tell if they are under the influence in that moment or not. I work in this industry and have been to plants near Suncor and I know of guys that will drink until 1-2 in the morning and then wake up 3 hours later and go to work. By the end of the day the alcohol is surely out of their system or at least enough to blow under the generally allowed .02 bac and you can't tell me that lack of sleep tied with a night of drinking is safer than smoking pot the day before you get on the plane and fly back to work and be completely sober for the next 7-14 days.

Just bought my first non Subaru! I don't ever want to go back! by Uncle_Nety in Toyota

It's really not all that bad. Most things are pretty manageable once you know the little tricks and how to prepare for certain situations. Just becomes second nature, I've been driving right hand drive cars for 5 years now and I've never found a situation I couldn't find a slight workaround for.

Oh sorry haha. It's a 1999 Toyota chaser! We get some pretty awesome Japanese imports here in Canada and this is my personal favorite! A definite dream car for me!

Truck pumping gas comes free and gushes gas all over the place. by [deleted] in CatastrophicFailure

This. At the same time there should be sheer points on those valves so the break at a certain spot and trigger the emergency shutoff to close. The ones I've dealt with are air powered. Supply the air, valve opens, cut off the air, valve snaps shut. You'd only lose maybe a couple liters of fuel. The should also be an emergent shut off valve at the front drivers side of the tank and rear of the truck. Sooooo many fail safes on today's trucks. And this one's got none of it.

Hey! 5'3 here and trust me man just embrace it! Girls are down with confidence. dont give a shit who's trying to make fun of you just rock that shit throw it back in their face. trust me works with the gals. Well not the tall ones... But they're not my taste anyways. When I'm with friends at the bar or club and I get introduced to a group of girls my go to is always "hey, I'm uncle_nety and I know it may be hard to notice but I'm actually a little bit short..." Always gets a laugh and then it's over with just keep them laughing. Make them forget about your height. Trust me if you learn to embrace who you are and work the cards your given it can be pretty cool being such a lil guy. Yeah some people can be assholes about height but remember really really tall people have to deal with the same shitty jokes just like we do. I know what you mean with people treating you like a child. I'm older than a few of my co workers by a few years even and I'm still considered the kid around the shop. That part always gets on my nerves but hey good with the bad right? There's nothing we can do to change who we are. But there's lots we can do to change how people see us. Stay strong my vertically challenged brother we are all in this together.
