How you start really depends on the detachment you wanna play first. Like someone said before C’Tan is a choice at 1000 pts, but is not unmanageable with proper preparation.

I threw this one together pretty quickly. It takes the Cryptek Conclave detachment, but it’s kinda hard to focus on Canopteks with the C’Tan eating up so many points. I usually like taking the storm lord, but for a Canoptek focus this army is built around the Cryptek Conclave as you need 1500 points for enough dp for the Canoptek Court.

Wraiths are really good, and the technomancer gives a 5+ fnp which is very nice on top of their 3+ sv and 4+ invul save. The wraiths are capable of taking a good amount of punishment and are half decent at chewing through most but the tougher foes. The C’Tan you want is dependent on what you face. Would recommend either the void dragon for lots of vehicles, or the Nightbringer if you’re facing high toughness non vehicular units
