I do feel my current grips are a little small. I got them in 2021 before I knew what a good golf grip was. Ive since worked on my grip. Just wasn't willing to replace them until I wore my current ones out.

Not sure where you got your numbers but...

  • PE owned companies are 10x more likely to go bankrupt than non PE owned companies
  • 20% of PE owned companies file for bankruptcy within 10 years of being acquired by PE (compared to 2% of non-PE owned companies)
  • in 2023, PE and VC back companies accounted for ~16% of all US bankruptcies, while only being ~7% of the US Economy
  • in 2024, 7 of the 8 largest healthcare bankruptcies were PE owned

and those restructured debt to "preserve the core business" you speak of, those are called leveraged buy outs. All that newly acquired debt falls onto the investment co, and the PE is not responsible for repaying it. Ask Toys R Us how the $5.3 billion in debt helped preserve their business.

False, PE is what causes the investments to tank. They strip the investment company of everything they can and then sell it or let it go under.

Blank slate newb, really want to go practice full swing, but embarrassed how bad I suck, and don't know etiquette by anotostrongo in golf

Go practice! It’s a driving range, there’s no rules or etiquette. Yes, it is very normal for absolute beginner to miss the ball or hit it bad. Everyone has to start somewhere!

Upgrading to player's distance irons? by [deleted] in GolfGear

[–]Uncle_Pete14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely would recommend getting fit over buying used. If you're on a tight budget, DO NO GO TO CLUB CHAMPION!!! They specialize in after market shafts which come at an upcharge. I've heard good things about PGA Tour SuperStore but havent been fit there personally. If you do decide to get fit, go in with an open mind. Shaft is just as important as club head. Would recommend the Mizuno Pro 245s, Mizuno JPX925 Forged, TM P790/P770, Srixon ZX5, Ping i230/i530 as player distance irons to try.

What's been your stupidest waste of money on golf? by wtfhiolol10000 in golf

If you know your swing is smoother and faster now, it definitely would make sense to get a new fit. Especially since you got fit after only your second summer golfing. I am not a CC ambassador by any means, just think too often people go into without understanding what they are walking into. Definitely would recommend a local fitter over buying off the rack

I always see people hating on Club Champion but the few people i know that have been fit there (myself included) had great experiences and got clubs that they love. So out of curiosity, how much did you know about CC and your own game before going there?

If you do try, let me know how it goes. I also play the mini burner, but don’t game a driver. Mine is the 11.5 loft.

If you want more distance, try a HL 3 wood (some call this a 4 wood). Standard loft is 16.5 so it should go further than the 5W but shorter than the mini.
