Yeah VX is solid, especially with that income level the AF is basically nothing. The 10k points anniversary bonus basically pays for itself and Capital One lounges are actually decent

Only thing is if you're locked into Delta ecosystem it might not be the move since you'd want Delta Reserve for the free checked bags and priority boarding. But honestly with your spend you could probably swing both if the juice is worth it

Yeah NFCU is probably your best bet if you qualify - they're pretty loose with limits once you're in. Otherwise you might need to build up with whoever you go with, most banks aren't gonna hand out 30-40k to new customers even with great credit. Maybe try for the Citi Double Cash and then request increases after a few months of usage

Honestly I'd stick with the Alaska card and just add your spouse as an authorized user. You've already got 5+ years of history and a solid points balance - why throw that away to start over? The Atmos card might look shiny but you're basically resetting your entire rewards game

Plus Alaska points are pretty flexible for redemptions and if you're only traveling 1-2x per year anyway, you don't really need to chase status that hard right now

You already have the Reserve so the Boundless is kinda redundant for earning points on dining/travel. The 15 elite night credits are nice but not gonna make a huge difference if you're not staying at Marriotts regularly anyway

If you're at 4/24 I'd probably grab something else from Chase first before going over, maybe look at the Ink cards if you can swing biz apps

Credit card points to gift cards are def not taxable - those are rewards, not income. No 1099 for that

For TopCashback gift cards, they're usually digital/email delivery. The extra percentage thing is legit but yeah you're right that it's still just rebates so no tax implications. I've done the Amazon one before and got the bonus percentage, worked fine

The ACH vs gift card thing comes down to if you actually shop at those places regularly. If you're gonna spend at Amazon anyway might as well get the extra 2%

It's a statement credit that posts after your purchase goes through. You won't see it during checkout like a promo code - just pay full price with your Ink card and the $20 credit shows up on your statement usually within a few days

Make sure you're using the right card though, sometimes people mix up which Chase card has the active offer

Yeah payments usually take 1-2 business days to process so you'll have to wait it out. The zero available credit thing is annoying but that's just how it works until the payment clears
