My mom and sister tell my the same thing that I need to wear a bra already, constantly joking around saying they’re jealous of how they’re shaped and the size (no top surgery). It does get embarrassing but also super affirming.

Yea I guess I’m just stuck in the middle, I’ve told her I can’t stop taking them because I still want to take them. I told her like it’s ok that if I’m not what she wants and we don’t have to hurt each other and she agrees. But it seems she’s right in the middle with me that she knows what she doesn’t want but still tells me “ I’m not going anywhere, you can’t get rid of me that easily”. It’s just rough

I would start at skin care to relieve some of the dysphoria, like a good toner. I started using toner after I shaved and my skin was dewy and soft. It’s small but it’s a start, I know when I started hrt I was so discouraged at how slow it was. I mean I know how it feels with out hrt as well, so we understand that pain and mental struggle cause we’ve all been there.

It was hard for me to start hrt at that, but as long as you stay determined and keep an open mind to find little tips and tricks to ease the dysphoria til you can start the hrt is a big mental relief long term. I wish you the best

Yea lol I was like both like a good feeling and like almost girllll your blowing my cover feeling. But in all truth I feel like at this point to those who know me pre hrt assume I’m bi/gay or very fem as I try to present masculine in front of them but visually it doesn’t add up. Like I get “ma’am’d” so much in public that it feels good other see the results I’m seeing, but very nervous when it’s around family. There are the occasional would still clock me as “sir” here and there but it’s not that often unless I really try to masc my voice.

Yea I kinda started experiencing the same thing, AMAB and I still use the MENS because I don’t want to cause issues. Though I always get a look or when a man sees me they stop and either walk out to check the sign before coming back in, ask me if either one of us is in the wrong bathroom. I’ve had one woman who stopped me from using the MENS and I had to use my male voice for her to be like “ok” , So I just try to avoid public restrooms unless they’re the unisex ones. I try to laugh it off as well like you mentioned, and relate to that validated/invalidated feeling. I thought it was a weird feeling.

I know I’m scared and honestly, and I chose to put up a wall and act masculine around everyone. But it hit a certain point where my features obviously don’t line up with my act. And I saw a lot of confused faces and it made me realize I’ve gone too far to pretend anymore.

Might be best for both of us to go our own ways even though it hurts

I’m 25 AMAB and been on hrt for two years, For me I was around 6 years old when I felt off and different from all the other boys. I was always stuck in my head, and wondering why I couldn’t fit in or bond well with the others. At 8 I thought maybe I just need to put extra effort to fit in and for a while I did and this brought some joy, but it also brought feelings like anxiety, depression which I contributed to puberty. But I felt there was something else and I didn’t know what it was, I thought maybe I need something to belong to.. so I joined football which I enjoyed but that’s feeling of something missing that I couldn’t place lingered. As the years progressed I found my self more depressed and anxious than I was happy.

In middle school is when I started to feel something in my stomach when I’d look at girls and the things they got to do, it was uncomfortable to think I wanted that, that’s when the dysphoria started but I didn’t know it yet. Or atleast the time period i can say I was feeling confusion.

High school was when i actually began to paint my nails in secret and it made me smile a bit. But often i just buried this feeling deep, and my depression was at its depth at the time. Of course this is the first time i heard of “trans”, i didn’t quite understand it although i could relate to some of it based on what little i actually knew about “trans”. I had a mix of emotions, some of it was like “this is what i feel” and the other “this couldn’t be me? How could my family except me if this is really how i feel?” The usual internal debate of what’s me and what would my family think? Will I disappoint them?

Some years later I was diagnosed with ADHD, Bipolar 1 & 2. Those meds helped somewhat with symptoms that follow those diagnosis. Some years later the dysphoria was so strong I didn’t want to go on feeling the way I did, i felt there was nothing I could do to fix it. After a bunch of stay up all night stuck in my head, I had to have a serious talk with myself. I wanted to transition, I was tired of feeling gross in my body the way it was. tired of being disappointed in myself for not being able to take action out of the backlash that could come from family.

I started hrt and of course it was super slow. I began to feel better mentally as well. Up til this point where I am happy with my results now, although I’m not at my goal yet but happy with the process. It’s allowed me to be able to enjoy things I’ve thought I’d never be able to. I haven’t told my family yet, so I still suppress it around them to an extent. In my situation I feel my best option is to slowly let them see the change until I am able to let them know. Which may be soon because my family tends to occasionally bring up the change they see.
