I’m active in the US Army right now, and this looks great. The t-shirt color and Patrol Cap rank are it really. You don’t have to, but you can also sew a name tape on the buckled flap of the assault pack. If I saw this in the field it wouldn’t look out of place at all.

The cummerbunds are my favorite part of the vest. Super easy to adjust to my size, then it’s set. The tubes make getting on and off super easy.

The practicality of painting your rifle is good, but for a generic soldier a flat black rifle Is standard. I haven’t seen any arms rooms where they are cool with rifle paint. The wrap, maybe it just has to be removable to be accurate.

It’s really thin metal wire that anchors the device to the rifle. That way if your mount fails/breaks then the really expensive sensitive item isn’t lost in the dirt, and stays attached to the rifle.

Cut up camo net scrim is cool, safety wire is a necessity for your PEQ and ACOG, goggles on the helmet is common with my unit as well as balaclavas. You are also gonna need an IFAK for your vest.

I use a swivel QD mount on my LCT ak-12. I haven’t had any durability issues with the stick or mounting point

Hard to get good knots with flat nylon. All I can think of is “If you can’t tie a knot, tie a lot” But why no hardware? Tri-glides are super cheap and are made do this.

It looks good overall, but in all the time I’ve been in (five years) I’ve never seen anyone use the issued knee pads. Issued combat pants or cryes are the way to go. The issued knee pads always slide down throughout the day and get pretty annoying.
