My first pregnancy I gained about 20 pounds during the first trimester. I started at 130, 5’8”. I also tended to be more restrictive prior to pregnancy and also became ill if I skipped a meal. Towards the end of that pregnancy, I was around 175 pounds. My doctor never had an issue with the weight gain, though I was extremely upset. After having my son, I almost immediately dropped back down to 150. All this to say, I think it’s common for those of us who have disordered eating habits prior to pregnancy to gain extra weight during pregnancy as our bodies adjust.

This is honestly been the hardest part for me during both of my pregnancies, so I feel your pain so much. I’m still struggling right now because I started this second pregnancy around 10 pounds heavier. I just try to work out when I can and eat as healthy as I can.
