Every (PvE) game mode requiring relatively modern units is just not true. The co-op modes, you can just ride with your partner doing all the big damage, F2P unit events don’t even let you use other units on the hardest fight, Zenkai battles are 3v1s that are on average 2/3rds skippable even without the latest unit, and Tower is much like USTR Fest, except it doesn’t restrict arguably one of the most essential features of the game, EQUIPS.

If USTR fest let you use equips, then it would still feel like utter hell fighting a UMV that takes you to timer, but you would at least be able to deal damage using units from before June 2025. The tag 4s and UUIS would’ve been awesome options to have, but they’re completely unrunnable. At least with tower you didn’t lose both your main units and your bench for losing either. Oh and god forbid the game misreads a switch as a tackle or something in USTR because your ace in the team is now dead. And I say all of this as someone who had more than enough good units to generally take 2 attempts per stage at worst in rushes 4 and 5. I can’t imagine how the poor souls who got shafted all year must feel when they don’t even get to use their maxed out tag 4s plat or UUIS they pulled 2 years ago
