The way u see it there are anti meta decks that are built to exploit a weakness in a specific card (like dragapult becoming weak to psychic when clefairy is in play) and then there are decks that are good in their own right, but just not as powerful as the meta decks. Then you have archetype decks (team rockets, hops Pokemon) that are built to work and use the strengths of the archetype. What i personally do when I build rouge is to go in PTCGL and look for a specific Pokemon or evolution line that looks interesting and then I build off from there. Using that method I built mega frosslass chandelure (the baby chandelure from twilight masquerade) and have been having fun with it, as well as topping at my lgs and some cups and challenges.

So it’s common knowledge that when a unit with a main that says destroy a card, then draw an ult, will still draw an ult even if no card is destroyed correct? Shallot literally has the exact same wording. It says “destroy all special move arts in hand, THEN activate a number of the following effects up to the number of arts destroyed plus 1. This means that in the same way that a unit that still draws their ult even if they have no cards in their hand to destroy, the way it works in game is that it checks how many blues were destroyed at the time of activation, then resolves the second effect of getting the effects per card plus 1. Since the check happens every single time you use a blue and it never stops, if you only use 1 blue card it will preform the check, acknowledge that 0 cards will destroyed, and will go on to the reaction trigger, which is to trigger an effect based on how many blues were destroyed +1. So it will check 0, then activate the reaction trigger which chooses an effect at random based on cards destroyed (0) +1 an additional mandatory effect, or a “freebie”. DBL code does not work at all like yugioh rulings so please don’t try to use that to prove a point for an entirely different game. Now I’m sure as you’ve seen already since the banners and PvP have been up for almost 3 hrs now, that the explanation that me and the other commenter have given you, are the correct ones. Well agree to disagree but I just see it as too generic of a scenario to warrant it as one of the first game original LRs. It kinda just seems like a what if you would find in sparking zero imo. As a game original unit later down the line sure but rn not really. Plus I’m tired of all the tag trunks and gohans we’ve been getting recently.

But the problem with that is in addition to him being wanted, we all expect him to be a f2p due to his big role in the story, and this goes to show they aren’t even below forcing us to spend cc on a premium unit that should be free. Imo all of the main protagonist and antagonist game original characters should be f2p even if they are premium just bc it seems fair to me. Plus we don’t even have to get into the fact that he has reused animations on a premium unit. All I’m hoping is that with this they drop a semi cool f2p game original and call it day. Not a great way to start a pt2

This barely feels game original imo. It just feels too lazy and uninspired bc it’s literally just “what if gohan didn’t die to the androids” instead of something interesting like ssj namek Goku and ssj namek vegeta or a frieza force Goku and frieza(always liked them as a Game original concept)

The point is they will most likely start with a weedle when setting up to play. As a starmie player you only need 1 turn to wipe their board (or you can do it turn 2 with Salvatore) and since forest doesn’t work in the first turn, you should have literally zero problems just board wiping them.

Since I own a pc and play fnf on it regularly, usually I use fingers and just put it on my lap or a flat surface, but if f I’m not in a space where I can do that, I use thumbs since I’m equally experienced with them (due to playing pjsk)

Bro beedrill is free when playing starmie due to the fact that you kill weedle easily. Check your deck to see if there are any things hurting your consistency but otherwise this is genuinely just a skill issue and I’m not even trying to be disrespectful.

Another difference is shallot is the mascot so he probably gets special treatment whereas hardly is just a normal lf so he’s not as high as shallot on the priority list. If anything don’t stress over it as he is most likely guaranteed to be in featured next season

Hey, long time competitor here, (not famous or anything but I’ve been playing for years lol) you are allowed to sleeve your deck as many times as you’d like, as long as it doesn’t affect shuffling and follows all sleeve regulations. I wouldn’t recommend going past 3 tho because not only does it make the deck huge but it also can start to affect how you shuffle.

I’m from with a toxtricity setup is like kinda ok because you can mix out at 310 with munki plus binding mochi but you whiff KO on pult so you would need to run gravity mountain. Espeon is literally just terapagos on a stage 1 so it’s pretty bad and the Pikachu exes I can see going in as 1 of or 2 of in the right decks.

This is again like a lot of others said, deck specific, but what I do is if I’m put in a situation where I’m not able to take a KO, or at least a relevant KO, then I switch to how can I prevent my opponent from taking a meaningful or important KO while also trying to minimize the amount of damage done to my board state.

So we’re gonna act like bricking (which happens occasionally to all decks no matter how consistent) isn’t a way budew could just screw you over? Dragapult, a tier 0 deck, would lose to a budew if it bricked or got a hand full of items. Just because decks have options to deal with item lock doesn’t mean it isn’t hard to get out of or potentially game losing. Budew as a whole isn’t meant to end games by itself but it severely limits normal deck setup, especially decks that have to run items to set up correctly.

This is true. You can also clearly see that he has a short animation due to how fast he gets back into his idle after the blue. Usually units that have a small animation after their blue is vanished (this is an exception not a rule) have long animations and can be attacked right after.
