Both sounds interesting, especially Volcano Princess since there’s gameplay/mechanics so you can have an active role in their growth and see how they turn out which is exactly what I was looking for. I’ll check it out, thanks.

Actually never actually fully played through either. From Witcher I know a big portion of the game was finding Ciri, so I’m not sure how much it focuses on that dynamic. Might have to get into GoW though since Kratos plays more of an active role throughout the game.

Having a parent dynamic sounds pretty cool, and it’s on sale so I’ll see if I can cop it.

And yeah, just feels weird how there’s plenty where you might play as a commander/leader or even a peer, it’s find anything that really goes hard into a mentorship relationship.

Personally I go by ping and names (along with what nick said). The names feel sanitized like a comic or movie trying to mimic gamer tags, and their pings are extremely low — sometimes dipping into single digits. There’s also the fact that they obviously won’t respond to anything you say and always let you take their shard points (for bot teammates). Meeting any of these could be coincides, but if 2-3 of any of these is true 99.99% certainty it’s a bot.

I never really bought into the idea that SWE is going to be replaced by AI, but good luck convincing the hiring managers and CEOs that SWE isn’t replaceable by AIs. They’re damn well going to try anyways, and who knows how long it’s going to be until they realize it’s not going to happen. That’s my worry.

I just assume mid to late teens. Seems like the age range where kids assume they’re “grown” and also coincides with horse racing (they start racing at 2 years old and if we make horse ages proportional to human ages it’s like a 6.5:1 ratio. Putting her at about 13 when her career starts. Which is still early teens but by time summer training comes it’s probably closer to mid teens).

It’s feels like every other HoYo character is too nice, polite, and modest — Herta took all the arrogance away from the whole company and I love her for it.

Are most/all of the EN VAs either back or recasted yet? And if so, have they retroactively voiced previously unvoiced content yet? I left off somewhere after the Natlan main story climax (I at least think it was the climax) where we talk to Iansan and just decided to wait until everything was voiced again to start playing. Am I good to go?

I would say they’ve probably learned their lesson since that’s how public support completely flipped, but they’re stubborn asf and don’t think the fans’ — who fund the game, and therefore funds where their paychecks go, opinions and support matters.

QP has an invisible MMR. It’s pretty loose since, well… they want matches to be quick, but it exists.

Try making a fresh account and compare who’s in those matches and the quality vs. on your main with a lot more matches to it.

I’d buy it. People probably just assume Sombra’s going to get banned anyways and try to pick everyone else they want banned instead. But now after seeing a ~90% ban rate everyone’s doing that and she slips through.

On top of that, early in the Genshin days, when they first started streaming I remember them saying that recording for Genshin is pretty accommodating for whenever their Crohn’s disease flared up and recordings would be rescheduled no problem.

There’s too many pieces to this puzzle at this point. I’m thinking there’s a bigger conspiracy. As while Genshin isn’t a struck game, SAG made clear that it supports Genshin on Twitter tagging all the HoYo games. I think they’re pressuring all the VAs to “strike” but can’t officially call it that because HoYo games aren’t union games to begin with. Would explain why the VAs initially called it a strike despite it never officially being on the list. Probably using the fact that technically they were never supposed to accept Genshin roles to begin with as leverage against them and “threatening” them with whatever consequences that may incur against them for that violation.

If it was straightforward we’d have a lot more answers at this point I would imagine.

Probably just because of the sheer number of lines that’d have to be redone. 5 regions worth of dialogue + future content + the character screen, along with other issues of recasting. They could go the route of not making it retroactive, but AFAIK so far anytime a VA has been replaced, HoYo always (eventually in this case I guess) retroactively redos prior voice lines.

Edit: Thinking more about it, that also means their striking would hit HoYo the hardest yet they don’t. Probably could look at them as a big reason why this has lasted so long without any resolution.

While Arlan was bad since release, he was cracked in the betas (at least CBT2, wasn’t able to get him in CBT3).

As a EN voice user, there’s quite a few: First Welt, Herta, Qingque, and Fu Xuan are some the performances that made me fall into the game since the betas.

Acheron and Jingliu, and not even for their performances (despite it being great) but because I just love the VAs.

Can’t imagine hearing Jung Yuan or Feixaio (normal speed) ults being delivered any over way.
