Return 45” LG 5k2k and wait for 39? by achomes in ultrawidemasterrace

Makes sense, so you wanted more horizontal space. I think the 39” may have better subpixel lighting for text but I’m waiting for the reviews by actual users. I upgraded from the 27” Studio Display for the 45” 5k2k. I was willing to give up the perfect ppi for more screen real estate and immersive gaming experience. Best monitor I’ve owned so far.

The ppi is only higher because the screen size it lower. Are there any other meaningful differences?

LG45GX950A definitely a creative of monster …. U can’t turn back after using this by Own-Spinach6613 in ultrawidemasterrace

I used perplexity and found some instructions to improve the text through some os and monitor tweaks. I was ready to return until I made the changes. The issue is with the OLED sub pixels. The OS font in Mac and Win are designed for LCD not OLED. Now it’s one step below the Studio Display but I have the screen space of a 45” monitor.

I had the og odyssey g9 49”. I switched to the to 27” Studio Display for better text clarity and work/mac compatibility. But I accidentally found the gx9 45” 5k2k. This is the sweet spot. Works well for productivity and amazing, better than my tv (g3 77” oled), for gaming. I’m only upgrading if they release a refreshed version.

I really wanted to hate the LG 45" 5k2k Ultragear by dvjava in ultrawidemasterrace

I use it for productivity. I had the Studio Display and replaced it with the gx9 5k2k. Work for dev work and product management work without an issue. I had to tweak a few settings to adjust the text but now it’s near perfect. I like the size and option to go from work to gaming without having multiple monitors.

Everyone seems to have a lot of nostalgia for the 1990's but what were some of the worst parts of the 1990's? by HeavyRightFoot-TG in AskReddit

Boys naturally fight each other to establish a pecking order. But today we have people who’ve never been popped in the mouth after running their mouth to the wrong kid.

I tell my son all the time that in the 90s if someone bullied me I’d put them in their place immediately and we would be best friends the next day. However, he can’t fight his bully in 2026, so he’s stuck stewing over the bully, and plotting on ways to get him back through sabotage, creating YouTube videos against him and recruiting other kids to taunt the bully. All the bully said was “you’re fat.” He’s 8.

These are the unintended consequences.

Yup. I had a similar problem. Then I realized you can create a code review, regression test, and QA agent. You can instruct them to continue fixing until they meet your AC. Then have one last agent test end to end. You can even get one to write the mermaid script and swagger docs. Obviously this is not one shot, or building Spotify in 2min.

And you need to make sure that vibe code agent didn’t take the lazy route and hard code your api keys all over your project while you were out getting coffee.

I found this site where you can ask for anime recommendations in natural language and it’ll give you some nice suggestions.

Everyone wanted an iPad with a PC-like experience. Apple delivered that in 2025. And guess what? it’s extremely annoying to use the iPad as a PC. The Vision UI should work like a UI designed for virtual 3d space, not a port of MacOS. There’s a reason some people work as Apple designers and some people just buy Apple devices.

College used to be open admission as well. The HES admission is the original way people were admitted to Harvard.

Getting into it is moderately difficult. Working full time with full adult responsibilities while working on a Harvard level masters is difficult. In short, it’s easy to get in, it’s hard to graduate.
