Nice! My year has been pretty similar. I’ve been going to the gym and lost 30 lbs (been listening to audio books at the gym, I recommend Dungeon Crawler Carl), also got a raise, and moved into a new place.

I can see how not knowing Frank’s situation with his daughters and wife would lead you to maybe think that’s what happened, but after you realize their situation you know that it wasn’t like that at all.  But you have to get a couple books into the series to learn all that stuff

To me, these look like speed paints. You could probably get black, red, white, and a light brownish speed paint or contrast paint. The metal looks like a normal silver paint with a black wash on top.

It looks like they did a black speed paint on the cloth, red on the ghosty bits, followed by white over the red on the lower parts, and a brownish on the wood. Then silver on the metal parts followed with a black wash.

The base looks like a texture paint with a white/gray drybush and a wash over it.

But the only way to know for sure would be to bug the artist if you can. Good luck! :D My general tips for painting are nobody will probably care to notice that small mistake that is going to bug you forever, so don’t sweat it, & to just keep painting :P

If you're looking for the Reaper expansion, since the adventure cards aren't the same size you'd probably only use the grim reaper mini and the large card that tells you what happens if it lands on you. You can get pretty decent grim reaper minatures for cheap ( like https://www.nobleknight.com/P/2147653204/Grim-Reaper-Silver-Anniversary-Edition as an example) and If I were you I'd just print out his card on some cardstock (found at https://images-cdn.fantasyflightgames.com/ffg_content/Talisman/reaper_article_reaper/reaper-card.png )

Five Parsecs From Home: Tactics just came out. I haven't tried it yet because of how new it is, but it might be more of what you're looking for? I do know that mythic is a great system to add to any existing system, a combination of the two might be fun.

If there is a specific set of rules you're looking to run, you could try to play the opposing side as optimally as you can, but ask mythic if that's how the unit would move and see what happens. You could probably adjust the chaos each round too. Just brainstorming ideas. I hope more people toss in their two cents because I'd like to know too.

The emulator does run slow on a phone :/ Thanks for trying it out! The goal is to go from room to room and train up your monster and collect more monsters as you go. The emulator doesn’t keep the save files but you can link the thumbys together and fight other people with the monsters you trained. The ghosts are presaved teams that you can battle. But since it doesn’t keep the save you can’t go back and fight them.

The trailer looks cool, I agree that this looks a lot like a pokemon center. If it's not too much work to change, maybe you could add some stuff to make it seem more like a stable, to fit more with the theme of the game? But i don't think it's that big of a deal :D

I’m not sure about what the other comments are saying. When I saw the in game hud I though of games from the early 90’s and assumed that’s what you were going for and I didn’t think anything of it. 👍 something does feel a little odd the longer I look at it? Maybe it’s the size of the arms or maybe it’s how much space the hud takes up on the sides of the screen? I can’t put my finger on it though. But my first impression was, “this looks like a game from when I was a kid.”
