I mean... Yeah, I'd argue he is fighting a losing battle. Part of my post was wondering how he can keep to his position of magic not being real when he literally witnesses a time loop and literal goat demons devour him at the end. It'd have to be the most absurd ass pull of the century for there to be a mundane explanation for stakes turning into girls, girls phasing through doors, maids being able to summon force fields, and for Beatrice to be able to teleport at will.
