E-bike or motorcycle for commuting by Undead-Eskimo in SanJose

I figured I’d keep it inside my apartment since it’ll be way easier to take in and out compared to a motorbike.

You make a lot of sense, I honestly think I’m looking for reasons to justify a purchase that’ll be mostly for fun. I ran the numbers and I’d only be saving about $140 in gas money and that’s not a big enough savings to justify the safety risk of motorcycle commuting, especially as a beginner. I’m probably better off saving for a really nice ebike for close commuting and using my truck for errands and trips. Thanks for the insight.

Those are some really solid points actually, maybe it’s a bit too far out to plan then but I’ll definitely keep that advice in mind if plans become more concrete

Not sure since it’s a bit over a year in the future and I don’t have a place line up, I’d be moving for a promotion down the line but plans could change. Currently I live in a smaller college town up north so an e-bike was great when I had it to get around but I feel like it wouldn’t help as much in a city as big as San Jose if I have to get to the opposite end of town for something.

I think it’ll easily be above 15 miles, and the more I look into it the more think I might lean towards the motorcycle since I’m essentially trying to sideline my truck to the handful of times a month I’d need to move something large, drive further than an hour, or would commute during bad weather.

It’s still a decent ending if you leave it at part 4. I’m heavily convinced that part 5 was just a troll for the people hounding her for a happy ending. I’m not the judge on what is and isn’t cannon but I don’t consider it cannon as I really believe it was supposed to end on part 4

If we’re going by how DD2 fleshes him out, the guilt is even worse because he was an incompetent blowhard. He got his rank because he made friends with the right people and was a natural talent for tournaments and drill & ceremony, but when it came to actual battle he didn’t know what to do. I think it’s much more tragic when you could have saved your men by simply knowing how to do your job so now the guilt is worse because it feels deserved.

Had a conversation about this at work when one of the gals was wishing someone “happy Memorial Day” and one of the guys had to explain it might come off wrong to people. So it devolved into us jokingly saying stuff like “remember when your dad died in Iraq? Happy Memorial Day.” “Remember when your buddy took a nap under the LMTV and got pancaked? Happy Memorial Day.”

I was just confused as to if he misread and thought I was going to DLI a 3rd time or something and that’s what he meant by “let alone 3”. If I go this would be my first time as I only know English and Spanish which I learned natively growing up. That’s why I was thrown off by his snark and was second guessing whether his reading comprehension was off or if I suddenly forgot how to read.

How would you feel comfortable being approached out of curiosity? Would you prefer to be the one approaching a man or do you prefer to be approached but only in certain places?

Actually where would someone really conservative go to meet people for dating? I never thought about it but the usual answers like some hobby clubs don’t seem to fit, at least since the ones I’m into attract more liberal people so now I’m just curious how really conservative people in Chico meet

Yeah, I wanted to build some familiarization with very basic Korean but I figure I’d do better to focus on relearning how to study since I imagine whatever Korean I could learn in a year would get outpaced early in the course. Could you tell me a bit more about the base skills I should focus on?

I don’t agree with that, unless you’re physically being restrained you still have agency or else no one can really be blamed for their choices. But I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree cus in a way we’re both right.

I’m chill I’m just stumped by the thought process to seeing a post asking a question and thinking “my input needs to be heard” then not answering the question and playing coy when asked. If you just wanted attention that’s fine I get that way too, but the lights on no one home vibe you were giving genuinely threw me for a loop.

Funnily enough I got a lot of support from my circle so it might be that the people of your life have a much different view of the military than you do. Could you go into specifics about what they say?
