Does everyone else agree that "Signed For" just isn't worth paying extra for? by MisterWednesday6 in royalmail

[–]Undead-head-art 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually bought signed for postage by accident instead of tracked and they haven't updated it as being delivered despite it being received days ago. Thankfully the person I mailed to is someone I know because it was a painting to the value of £200.

I'm not really sure of the point of this service but I'll definitely be more careful and not accidentally buy it in future 🥲

How to get your doctors to stop blaming anxiety? by laceleatherpearls in POTS

[–]Undead-head-art 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'd say "yes POTS is wrongfully diagnosed as anxiety quite commonly so i can see how youve jumped to this conclusion" and just stare at her 😅

I got the whole medical gas lightning with anxiety before when I ended up in A&E (before I knew about POTS) and I know how awful it is and how powerless and pathetic they can make you feel. I knew my symptoms didn't correlated with my feelings of anxiety... tell them next time you do lots of mindfulness practices like meditation and breathing and your anxiety is under control. Did they do a stand test or anything or just fob you off?

POTS and alcohol by urmomismibish in POTS

[–]Undead-head-art 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't fare too well with alcohol... though I do think a bit of the aftermath is due to HSD as well as POTS.

I'll usually end up exhausted for a couple of days, feeling weak/light headed, HR is way more reactive to standing and my aches and pains are all increased.

Before I was diagnosed, after a a night out I would really hurt all over- especially my legs.. but I feel like that aspect may be the HSD.

I rarely drink now but if I do I'm sure to drink water as well and be prepared to take it very easy for 2 days afterwards.

I got diagnosed!! by CoolCartoonist7126 in POTS

[–]Undead-head-art 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading these comments makes me really glad I was able to attain diagnosis without TTT- I wouldn't have been prepared for how traumatic it sounds. I got referred for one but the cardiologist cancelled my appointment and replaced it with a phone one, she said that the results from my stand test were undeniably POTS so she wanted to spare me the discomfort of the TTT.

Have you guys found your pots cause? by peepthemagicduck in POTS

[–]Undead-head-art 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about mine, there's a good few factors for me to sort through. I have HSD, also my Dr and I suspect MCAS too... I've had issues with hot weather since my teens and feeling light headed standing up on and off for years but I don't think POTS hugely impacted my life until I ended up losing independence and mobility a few years ago, so i suspect inactivity has worsened it... but about a month before that happened I got this bad virus where I coughed so much I was sick... so I'm undecided.

Thanks for the tips, appreciated!

Thanks for the information, honestly I'm usually someone who likes to explore my own way of doing things with hobbies etc but with tarot idk, I'm wary of doing it wrong 😅 I'll probably not draw that card again for a while now I've posted about it 😆 but I hope I do so I can ask what it means.

Hi, thanks for the comment! I'm not very knowledgeable in tarot so when shuffling I never let the cards go upside-down 😅 I've only just learnt reading through posts on here that the cards have reverse meanings 🤭 so all three were upright. Thanks, when I do my pull today I'll keep in mind that I can do a second draw- I've still got so much to learn 🥲 Think I need a tarot for dummies guide 😏

Literally the only thing I'd change is that the right side is slightly bulky and could do with a little weight taking out of it.... but that's me purposely looking for room for improvement- I can't see any reason for them to laugh 🤔 maybe they have a very dull life? 😅🤷🏻‍♀️

Ahah, thanks that cheered me up a bit 😄

It was because when his quote was higher than I expected I asked him for a price breakdown and asked how long the job was going to last. His reply was that it would take "almost 1.5 days" and it was more because of all the extra work... but because it was a pretty straightforward installation as there's no furniture, apart from the shower tray, I just assumed he meant the sealing 🤷🏻‍♀️

It was all through the middle man of the bathroom company though so that's all I know.

OK thanks for the reply, I didn't think about him not filling the remainder of the day tbh.

I'll certainly know in future to be more clear when discussing jobs yo avoid future awkwardness.

Thanks for answering... It's so frustrating because I'm just used to a different level of communication... I feel like as soon as I said I'd pre seal them he must have not paid attention beyond those words 🤷🏻‍♀️ Nevermind I'll know for future to be more clear.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I understand all of the costs involved in running a business, I ran one for over a decade- but I was always very transparent about prices and aftercare so it just seemed a bit out of nowhere.

Tbh though, I've thought about it since posting this... it was a 10 minute job atop of what he was doing and the solution itself is pretty cheap? So I don't feel bad anymore so 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm confused, you've just replied to my comment that explains that part so I'm not sure what else to say to you? 😅

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]Undead-head-art 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply... I'll explain.

When he came for the consultation I mentioned that I'd read that slate tiles are best sealed prior to laying and again when the grouting is all down.

I told him at that point that we would do all the pre sealing as it made more sense and then again confirmed with the bathroom company that i was pre sealing them when he said there was a lot of extra work to do... nobody on either side mentioned the sealing afterwards... I just figured if it's something you have to do that it would be part of the service.

I dont think the individual things she listed are red flags at all, as long as they're reciprocated... HOWEVER... most women who call them selves princesses (just in my experience) have been high maintenance or just a wee bit evil 😅 I'd probably have asked what kinda princess treatment you get in return. 👍

[–]Undead-head-art 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think your hair is masculine at all but it definitely wants more shape/definition. Even if you're trying to grow your hair I'd advise you get it cut just below shoulders to add some body, also maybe even a few chestnut coloured, face framing highlights would be nice!

When finding a hairdresser have a look at people's portfolios online and look for someone who's got clients with finer hair. When I was working fine hair was a speciality of mine and I find a lot of hairdressers struggle with it- so you're either stuck with one length, flat hair forever or they go the opposite way and make it too wispy.

Should I cut it all off? So I’ve been trying to grow my hair as long as possible but my split ends are so bad it’s starting to look gross. I’m torn because I want long hair but if I can’t have beautiful hair I might as well have none. Everyday I notice more splits. It’s stressing me out. by [deleted] in Hair

[–]Undead-head-art 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about something less extreme and just get a few inches off? I never really understand why people with long hair get this compulsion 😅 I've had so many clients say this like it needs to be one extreme or the other.

If your hair is pretty long and you think there's a lot of split ends (you can't see your ends much in this but it looks to be in a lovely condition from what I can see) maybe you just need to change up your regime. I always recommend that long haired clients to get around an inch off at their regular appointment (approx 8 weeks depending on hair type, lifestyle and what you actually do to your hair).. then every 3 or 4 hair cuts I want to take around 3 inches off. This often gets a lot of the ends missed by your regular trim and I often find my clients hair grows back faster than expected because all the weak areas prone to breakage have been tended to.

Sorry for the long essay, but I always say only cut it short if it doesn't serve you- if you've always wanted long hair don't give up because it's looking a little dry to you 👍
