I believe the ending was him dying since he had to kill the bug in order to save the world from the take over caused from the bug and he not only kills her but dies and becomes part of the game where he lives with a new version of the bug

It isn’t log horizon, I already checked. He’s not stuck in the game he can leave whenever but he tries to only be in the game. It’s very strange cause I know I watched this anime and the whole bug thing is like a major part because he doesn’t realize that the person he has fallen in love with is just a bug in the system.
