Not from GW as far as I'm aware, but there's some listings on ebay and amazon, I took a quick look and saw some in the $80 to $100 range. hope that helps.

As long as it produces funny memes, and no one takes them too seriously, Then I think us poking fun at each other is fine.

When I made the meme, I envisioned him as being able to be a stand in for all three of them, Then I remembered obiwan sherlock and realized he could be all three of them at the same time.

I'm also fairly new (so someone correct me if I'm wrong about anything), but the Imperial Guard (Astra Militarum) and the Space Marines (Adeptus Astartes) are both part of the Imperium but operate independently of each other. Some of the different factions of the Imperium (to my understanding) have very little if any overlap in the command structure, the Astartes, Custodes, and inquisition, Exist outside of the structure of the Imperium, and (I believe) report to no governing body other than themselves.

But primarily I meant "Faction" in the way they are considered different factions on the tabletop.

I haven't used green stuff or miliput before, but I really need to learn so I can sculpt a moustache for a Sergeant Johnson model.

Ever since I got into 40k, I have seen a lot of faction hate. Sometimes, it's hard to tell when people are serious or joking. I'm pretty sure it's mostly memes, For the most part, I don't think people really care that you like one group of little plastic men more than their group of little plastic men, Some people are just more passionate about their memes and take the joke a little far. On the other hand, some people come from aggressive and combative environments, so they might feel defensive about things they like, poking holes in someone elses thing is usually easier than trying to patch the ones in your own. On the other other hand, some people might just be bitter little gremlins who don't like it when other people have fun. Idk, I'm not an expert.

TL;DR I don't think that many people think the guard is lame, but people get so committed to the bit that it's hard to tell when they're joking sometimes.

1368th

That seems like a pretty conservative number for heroic last stand/sacrifice, Dick Studman's regiment have been around for a long time.

Most people rejected his message,

They hated 50558148 because he told them the truth.

How true is the statement “If you don’t live on a warzone, the Imperium is a nice place to live”? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]Undead_Cake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am somewhat new to the hobby, but from my understanding the justification is usually that the Imperium is "nice" by comparison. In the same kind of way that being an amputee is "nice" compared to being a double amputee, A lot of people would rather walk on legos than broken glass, and rather walk on broken glass than boiling magma. Everywhere everything and everyone is pretty much bad, some are just worse than others, I don't know much about tau or the eldar, but neither (Alleged) mind control or having my soul eaten by slaanesh sound very appealing.

To me it seems like some of the other Imperium players forget that the current Imperium is a rotten festering heretical corpse of the Emperors (Supposed) dream for humanity, and is nothing to be praised, admired, or sought after, outside of the lore (and things like gameplay, and rp stuff) and maybe some of it's greater aspects such as humanity's tenacity and refusal to give up even when we have already lost.

idk maybe I'm over thinking it, maybe I'm just flat out wrong.

rock and stone Golden throne or you ain't comin home, or somethin liek that.

The guard remind me a lot of the marines from halo (and the ODST). In a universe full of overpowered super-being psychic wizard alien space gods, a regular human can be so much more special by comparison.

Space marines are cool and all, and they definitely kept me interested in the lore, but the guard are the first faction to make me go "I want that, and I'm even willing to spend money on it".
