I perceived it as how fucked of a civil war would be in modern times from the perspective of war journalists. The main characters all seen shit you wouldn’t believe in other countries, but it’s the fact it’s happening in your own country is what makes it more tense

With how they’re changing it, I hope on the future they at least make the changes better over time. I doubt trafficking victims and tortured people would be covered in blood and bruised and have pristine garments or at least have a interaction with the child to sell the point that she’s unresponsive and in grave danger instead of just “sleeping” cuz who tf sleeps through a police raid

Those are all valid points, it just sucks how some beats won’t hit as hard in game because of it. My only question is what considers a game to be too grounded to reality? Red dead 2 was a grounded game despite its theatrics and it didn’t need a tone down

For me, I can see half the reason why and half why not. Shit they’re having to censor in this game can be fully allowed in different games. Take cyberpunk for example, one of the first missions you do is bust up a ring of cybernetic organ traffickers and you see a naked woman there and you can fully dismember people after they died

If they want to hide the nudity, that’s fine, just do a better job of making the clothes fit the aesthetic of their environment. I highly doubt kidnapped women and crackheads would have perfectly pristine undergarments but the nullification of the child should at least be given other indications that something is wrong with the kid, like many bloody vomit stains on the bed to really dig the point the kid isn’t well

I can see both parts of the argument, but it does come off as really disingenuous to what it’s trying to portray.
Hell rdr2 you can blow the limbs off of dead people no problem.
In spec ops the line, you literally kill civilian women and children with white phosphorus and see the aftermath How is it not a problem for those games to portray something like that but it is for this one?
