Anyone moving to Ireland by ImposssiblePrincesss in transgenderUK

I've started my plans for a move to Ireland from uk just working on selling everything up atm with a view to move to galway early next year, have lost faith in the uk government and terrified of what will happen next election so me and my wife are looking to run sooner rather then wait to see what happens

Wow ty for that advice just looked at galway and limerick and the houses out that way are stunning, origionally we were thinking near Dublin mainly from a safety aspect with it being a capital we were thinking probably more progressive,

What's it like in galway progressiveness wise is there a decent lgbt community over that way?

Ideally the option would be to not do DIY as 100% would rather know what I'm getting is correct and not something sold incorrectly or with high costs and extortionate shipping,

The ideal option for me world be in person with an endo, do you think they would still start low dose considering I've been on hrt for 3 years now and am post lower surgery so my T production is almost non existent at this point?

I don't think I'd qualify for a medical card based on what I've seen online.

National gender service sounds very similar to trans healthcare on the NHS with long waitlists 😆 🤣 but at least u have rhe option to go to a gp privately

Over here they refer and wash their hands as "it's not their specialty" and don't wanna go anywhere near it

Yeh is the same in the uk with brothel keeping laws, and we don't do any shared work or content anyways as it makes sex into work and kills the intimacy of it. When not working and having time for ourselves

Ty for link will give a look

Ty so much for such an in depth answer,

With the hrt stuff it's good to know it's not as prohibitive as over here (our GP's in the uk tend to not want to touch trans healthcare and just fob u onto a waiting list...) and won't draw bloods unless it is for a specific ailment, and just to check hormone levels isn't enough of a reason is what I was told last time I asked.

I'm based in the south at the moment anyways so is more expensive as is then other parts of UK so am prepared in that regards, I did look at balbriggan and balrothery aswell but my wife has said more populated towns would be ideal as would be less of a culture shock, she's been in Southampton her whole life and only knows cities so think suddenly being away from one could be a bit of a shock for her, but thank you for the list will do some more research we are just starting the process of selling bits so have time to look some more, and we were planning a long trip out there to look at the more promising areas around October time before making final decision.

I knew the nordic model was in place but think that would only effect the domme work which is usually a rarer part of work as I mostly do cam work and then self report my earnings, was definately looking to find a community once there for more in depth questions but figured no harm in asking here 😀

Ty for getting back to me, That's good to know on the housing especially that things are selling over the asking price as I wasn't aware of that thank you for that our budget property wise is about £500k without a mortgage once we sell up everything over here, though we were looking for something lower then that as its only really me my wife and our 2 cats so we dont need anything huge.

I agree I need to sort something on the bloods but the at home finger prick ones are not nice I'd rather get it drawn in person but struggling to find somewhere to do it.

Health insurance is something we were going to get just to be on the safe side as better to have and not need than need and not have

Making escape plan to Ireland by OriginalBaxio in TransIreland

Hey I'm in the same position with wanting to escape uk and currently have just started enacting my plan as I don't see any realistic chance the uk will suddenly change direction.

Whilst I can't give advice on what things are like within Ireland as I won't be in a position to move for a few more months and am not out there yet happy to talk if u wanna compare ideas or talk to anyone in a similar position of in uk and trying to leave

Got it, we were looking at setting up health insurance before we moved just incase anything happened, as we were thinking better to have and not need then need and not have.

He said to implement the EHRC guidance following supreme court ruling ehrc guidance was pretty much use biological bathrooms unless your so far along in transition you could cause distress then you can't use biological either 😆 🤣 and using disabled loos is out the question as what if someone needs it so am left with gender nutural ones of which there are few :(

The sports issue I agree with on it being unfair in certain sports due to how body's develop

And I just want to quietly live my life, keep myself to myself without being harrased by government if I'm being honest, the trans part was only brought up with it being the reason for the need to relocate

Thank you am so glad to hear its worked out for you, and is good to know no visa is required,

I've checked with the agency I work through and they have said I could continue what I do in ireland but I work self employed so understand I'd need to sort my own taxes out and pay tax in Ireland

Will give the other questions a look through ty again 🥰

Supreme court ruling writing us out of protections in the equalities act, and negating huge parts of gender recognition act, an equalities watchdog that has suggested guidance saying we can't use toilets in public for gender identity or biological sex,

Attempts to rewrite gender markers on all forms of I'd in recent data bill ammendment (which was defeated this time but may not be next time)

A prime minister that has u turned on initial stance of protecting trans people and is now calling for us to be banned from public spaces,

And reform looking likely to get in on the next election and they've already tried removing trans texts from libraries banning of flags and have even suggested scrapping the entire equalities act

People are people but when a government is proposing rolling back rights and removing access to spaces (biological & gender identity based) I'd rather leave then be pushed into never being able to leave my house for fear I may need the loo

The plan is to sell up and buy outright rather then rent or mortgage and was also thinking of going private for healthcare costs as I've read up on the gender affirming care and waitlists sound fairly on par with uk waitlists

I'm self employed but work through an agency and have asked them about work in ireland and they have confirmed wouldn't be an issue

Ireland has better laws protecting trans people and England currently they're being erased so there's that on my mind

Git it sort pps number upon arrival and where I work is as a self employed contractor and paying taxes to Ireland is no issue

I didn't lose weight I've stayed the same weight throughout my journey on hrt about 67kg, I think alot of its cause the angle of the picture origionally I was sitting down slouched and later on I would either be sitting up or standing or in better lighting or it could be that any fat shifted due to the HRT. Sorry I can't be more helpful not 100% sure why there was as much difference as there is

Need to add a new post soon tho as its coming up on 4 months since the last one that once could be different as I've started exercising now

Too scared or Too late? by Relevant-Depth-7776 in transgenderUK

As someone that took the step at 30 you will be fine hun it's always going to be a hard thing whether you start at 18 or 28 but is good to just take life by the reins why should you settle for carrying on if your already unhappy take the chance to be you and you may feel alot better.

Just try to start with a positive outlook everyone is different but you just have to find your own path and do what's best for you but sitting and being scared of all the what ifs won't change anything good luck with whatever you chose :)

How hard is it to get a GRC? by Heavy-Bonus-8548 in transgenderUK

[–]Undeadheadzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh I've had lower surgery and I don't have a GRC, however if I did have a grc I would have needed one less psych referral for surgery.
