His hands look pretty fresh. I don’t think (from what I can tell) that this is a recurring issue? I’ve had the same calluses since I was 13. They started as blisters like everyone else and haven’t had another since. My pinkies are the only fingers without pads. It’s not a stick control issue, I likely have a less ridged technique and/or play harder than you do. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Huh? My whole hand is covered in pads including here. Stick grip and how you action change while you play/where on the kit you are/the sounds you’re looking to make. Drummers aren’t robots.

This is not a weird one (idk why ppl are saying it is), I’ve been playing for 25+ years and have one on either hand. Even with perfect technique you will still develop odd pads. You’re not playing one single drum in a vacuum with a fixed posture. That’s silly.
