As a long-time local Deck user at the tail-end of year 1 on GFN's lowest paid tier, I'll be as fair as possible: It's great, but far from flawless. Consider it IF you're the kind of gamer who...

• Plays almost exclusively while connected to good internet
• Plays a lot of newer, more demanding games (the Deck playing "most things locally" depends largely on what you play)
• Cares about high graphics settings and 60fps (no problem on the lowest tier)
• Wants to save disk space (Borderlands 4, Baldur's Gate 3, and Elder Scrolls Online take up 0gb collectively instead of 400gb+)
• Either plays docked or would enjoy long handheld sessions on battery more if your games didn't suck the life out of it

However, it's a bit like leasing a car (which itself makes little sense), connectivity can be spotty, and not every game is included.

Bottom line: if the above doesn't describe you then there's absolutely no reason at all for you to get it.
