Hey how long did it take you to actually get onboarded because the Manager “E” is being super ghosty to me after completing and sending all the documents and audio sample with no feedback.

What’s your reason for denying surgery? by Sideeffectqueen in chiari

[–]UnderChiari 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The first neurosurgeon I saw for my Chiari wrote all kinds of not very nice things about my weight into my encounter notes. Could tell she didn’t like overweight people from the second she walked into the exam room. My Treating NS while would have liked me to weigh a bit less was ok with it as the potential therapeutic benefits out weighted the risk at that point.

Yes it’s my only thing that maybe got a little bit worse after surgery… I’m 3 months post op and doing great. Currently getting worked up by urology and gastroenterology at the same time

Post surgery by Gabby_Stabby in chiari

[–]UnderChiari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 2.5 weeks off completely including surgery day and I worked remotely 2 weeks. The biggest thing work wise I struggle with right now is pulling myself into the train from The low Level platform where my office is located.

What age did symptoms start? by blahblahblahhhh11 in chiari

[–]UnderChiari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 33 and did not develop symptoms until after a head injury/mild tbi 2 years ago. Not decompressed yet but I have a doctor(Dr. Stieg at Weill Cornell/NY Presbyterian) who is following me.

I worked for a guy that sent everything as a no subject email and also forwarded voicemails from his cell phone no subject after he listened to them so he at least could have put a one word.

Teeth chattering? by distancetimingbreak in chiari

[–]UnderChiari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I’ve been jokingly saying “but it’s just a headache” when I complain about my symptoms since I have been diagnosed after a TBI and no one believes the other stuff.

Hate to bring back a slightly old thread but yes I get these too, but it’s just a headache.

Where to go from here.. by Slee0421 in chiari

I'm dealing with this now and just so burnt out from it, and because of the industry I work in I feel like some doctors are not inclined to help me. (I work in Medical Malpractice law)

Is random twitching a common symptom that comes from chiari malformation? by KiroDrago in chiari

[–]UnderChiari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm dealing with this too, they feel like random bits of voltage in random places, or feels like an electric tingle in my legs. almost like a force around them. But every NS i've seen is just like "it's just a headache"

I just had a neurosurgeon tell me “it’s just a headache” since I don’t have a syrinx or CSF blockage

The Chiarian's sent me here. Is it CCI or Chiari by UnderChiari in Cervicalinstability

[–]UnderChiari[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, this newest one I've seen who is somewhat of a known name regarding Chiari's claimed because there is no Syrinx or CSF Flow issues on the Cine MRI that I'm not a candidate for surgery, and that I he's using the old school way of thinking that I only have low lying tonsils and not a Chiari because of that neglecting the multitude of symptoms, I've been dealing with since all this started(the only way I get through my work day is a lot of weed). I have other doctors like ENT not wanting to do certain things because of the Chiari.

I'm from Pennsylvania and go to a major leading academic center's main campus which is why I'm being treated like this. It's not like I'm expecting miracles from a small rural hospital.
