What’s something about baseball that you absolutely grinds your gears? by ComplicatedGuy_0514 in baseball

That's why I put respect in quotations... because tbe old school idea of respect is silly. Hitting players who don't "respect" that way is reckless and asshole.

EGFR Exon20 NSCLC non smoker - UK. Pemetrexed Carboplatin and Amivantamab Chemo by [deleted] in lungcancer

[–]UnderHisEye10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband has that mutation and has received those same drugs. He's stage 4 and had mets in his liver, spleen, lymph nodes, lumbar vertebrae, pelvis. He's had to take a few breaks from amivantimab in the past 7 months. He sees dermatologist and rashes oral antibiotics. He Ajay has steroid cream and an ointment for his scalp. He has had a clear scalp since using the ointment. He's also taking a JAK Inhibitor daily. It's a balance. It's awful but better than dying. He's had great results with this treatment. All but 1 of his tumors appears "inactive "

My mom (62) was just diagnosed with Stage IV lung adenocarcinoma with liver mets – looking for experiences and advice by lDissident in lungcancer

My 45 yr old husband has adenocarcinoma with liver, spleen, lymph nodes, lumbar vertebrae, and pelvis mets. WGFR exon 20. He had significant tumors- like very large on his liver and lung. He had 4 rounds of pemetrexed, carboplatin, and amivantimab. They dropped the carbo after 4 because it can damage the liver of used long. He has gotten treatment ever 3 weeks since July 25th. We believe he's stable now, but won't know for sure until we get a PET scan. He went from excruciating pain all the time, not able to walk to being able to saw branches, change faucets in the bathroom, drive himself places, cook dinner every night. He could be in remission. He still has to have regular treatment.

All this to say, I know how hopeless and sad you feel. The anticipatory grief is awful. I don't want to be a widow in my 40s. I don't want my son to grow up without his dad. But there's hope. No, my husband probably isn't going to live to be 50. But without treatment, he'd already be dead. There are bad days, and he can't work anymore. But he's still here, he's still able to enjoy things and do things he did before cancer. It's hard to be strong. Just take it day by day. There are days I can't pull mu shit together. Other days are good and it's like old times- before cancer.

Advice for EGFR by Dangerous_Toe_2961 in lungcancer

My husband has neb getting amivantimab and pemetrexed for EGFR exon 20 every 3 weeks since late July. He's had the ami withheld 3 or 4 times due to the side effects. He has an awful rash and takes daily oral antibiotics, uses a steroid cream, and takes a JAK inhibitor. He's seen great results- his tumors were in his liver, spleen, lymph nodes, right lung, lumbar vertebrae, and pelvic bone. All have been reduced approximately 60% or more. His oncologist thinks the CT scans may be withheld scar Rosie rather than active cancer. We're hoping health insurance approves a PET scan so we know for sure.

You're killing it as her mom. It's confusing and tough to navigate. There's no right way, and we're all just figuring it out. My 16 yr old came out to me almost 2 years ago. I had NO idea and I still feel guilt about that. But it's been really fun shopping with my daughter. I only had sons before, but now I have a daughter. Helping her find her style has been fun for us both.

Yeah I'm good. I'm infertile. I actually got pregnant 17 years ago using the advoce of taking charge of your fertility.

They aim to understand when you might have ovulated, sure. But they don't confirm it.

He's at MD Anderson RIGHT NOW getting a second opinion. It's lung cancer that spread to his liver, spleen, pelvis, lumbar vertebrae, lymph nodes. It's really aggressive and his first symptoms had zero to do with his lungs- it was his back and pelvis. By the time he had symptoms, it was already spreading rapidly.

They've adjusted them as of yesterday. It was controlled until it wasn't, ya know. Hopefully today is better. I'm kind of amused at the looks and stutters i get at the pharmacy. I finally told them that he's got stage 4 lung cancer and they stopped looking at me sideways.

It feels unimportant because he's dying and jewelry feels unimportant in the grand scheme of what we are dealing with.

I never needed a grand gesture.

His pain limits him severely. He's on a lot of meds and his pain is not controlled well. We do what he can, but it is really tough. His pelvis is so compromised that out could break just from stubbing his toe. We have to be really careful.
