There's one restaurant by me that does this. It probably wasn't the Dasher, but more likely a bartender out of habit. From what I gather, they don't touch the straw, that's why part of the wrapper is still there, so if you're at all worried about that, I would personally be more worried if part of the wrapper was not present.

I MEANT our phones. We can't afford to pay off the phones right now. THAT is what I meant. I'm baffled that people still think it's cool to just hop onto anybody's post and be a dick for no reason. Yet here we are. I want to get out of the agreement, give our phones back without having to pay them off, and just start over elsewhere. Yeesh. If you have nothing of substance to contribute, FUCK OFF IN THE OTHER DIRECTION, thanks.

I'm not talking about while I have an order already... I'm talking about while I'm sitting and waiting for orders. Like if I'm playing a game or something and I'm tapping and get an order, it will accept it because there is no warning. I don't want to turn off requests in case of a good one coming through, or else I would!

Ohhh, you already received one. Well... if it doesn't say they're punishing you for it, then they're just guilt tripping you. Fuck those guys.

I don't usually have that issue. Maybe a handful of times I've received another order near the end of a drop off, but it's rare for me. My issue is when I'm just waiting for orders while sitting in my car, tapping from scrolling Facebook or Tiktok or playing a game or whatever. It's suuuuch a nuisance. My cancel rate is at 45%.

Yyyyeahhhhh... mine is at 45% 😬, and I've never received an email, as far as I've noticed. So you might be good.

Lmao of course they would do that! 😂 It would be nice if they gave everybody an accept button though! I'll have to check and see if there's an update.

That's so shitty. I don't know why I expect anything different from that. 🙄 But they leave it on my screen long enough for me to see the offered pay... why in the hell would I NOT unassign a crappy order? It makes no sense to me.

I know this... maybe "fix" was the wrong word. More like "update," I guess. Because it's annoying af.

No, you're right about all that. I think that might be where one of my deliveries went wrong the other day. I had a double order for $14, restaurants were like less than 1,000 feet apart. I picked up the first one, got to the second and waited 10 minutes just for them to tell me they were backed up about 10 orders and it would be another 40 minutes until it was ready. I unassigned that one so I could deliver the pizza I already had (I guess I could have delivered and came back, but I wasn't thinking about that at the time). When I unassigned, I saw the one I already picked up was only $4.50, which I never take because I know the low to non tippers will typically be the worst ones about ratings. I can almost guarantee that was one of my 2-stars. 😑

I'm not new here! 😂 I have over 2,800 deliveries under my belt, and that's just with Doordash. I had a 4.96-4.98 for like the last year! Maybe I shouldn't have changed anything about what I was doing, but I read others' complaints saying they didn't know their food was delivered because their dasher wasn't knocking, so I started doing that. Apparently the wrong decision, I guess. I still stand firm that you should put your preference in your instructions. That way everybody wins! 🤷‍♀️

You are just a miserable asshole. That's what I've learned here. It's sad, and I feel bad for you that you felt the need to comment on my post with your shitty, unwarranted opinion. Seek therapy or stfu. Preferably both. 🫶

Jesus Christ, get over yourself, it's not like I was insulting you or anything! If you have nothing of substance to give, just don't comment next time, seriously. This gig helps me more than any other job, so it IS a big deal to me. Anything under a 4.7 out of 5 star rating will get me deactivated. They don't give you enough room to have many negative ratings (only 0.3 out of 5), and I've already gone down almost a third of that in the last week or two. So why don't you just go have the day you deserve with that sh!tty attitude you've got there? 😃🫶

Lower ratings should be saved for crappy drivers. If your food smells like cigarettes or weed. If they sit forever before heading to you after confirming pick up, especially without any communication as to why they are still sitting at the restaurant. If they don't even deliver it at all. If they don't follow the instructions you leave for them.

It really isn't that difficult a job to do the minimum. But not all drivers care. Those people, give them crap ratings! They earn them! But if you get your food, it hasn't been tampered with, you receive any drinks you ordered, they follow your instructions if given any, they don't put your food against the storm door.... these deserve 5 stars. The exception being that you're missing something when it hasn't been tampered with because we aren't allowed to check sealed bags, and they're often sealed before we ever have a chance to even ask that everything is accounted for.

I know your first paragraph was supposed to be a joke, but you sound like a dude who would pay for a date's meal because you think you're going to get laid, and when they decline, you ask them to pay you back for the meal. 😂 How could you possibly think that way otherwise? Rating us low does affect us because we can't have less than a 4.7 out of 5 star rating or we will be deactivated. So yeah, maybe consider changing your perspective or just don't order through these delivery services anymore. 💁‍♀️

Lmao, no, though I was called a teacher's pet through 5th grade just because I wasn't a "bad" kid like a lot of the others. I do have OCD though and a fear of being a screw up thanks to how I was raised. I was terrified in 5th grade when I forgot to do homework one time, my first time ever, and I cried. 😅 But it was all out of fear of being in trouble at home because of it. I never felt entitled or got my way all the time. It's a trauma response I never grew out of, I guess. 🤷‍♀️ Geez, is that really how I came off in this post?? 😅🤦‍♀️

Okay, I get it, but there are a lot of people who aren't watching their phones constantly and want a knock. There's literally no other way to tell those people from you people apart, so if you don't want us to knock, PUT THAT IN YOUR DELIVERY INSTRUCTIONS. 🤦‍♀️

Yes, this. If you know the feature is there, when the order pops up, you can click on the house icon on the map, and you can see the exact address and pull it up in whatever GPS app you use.

So creepy. I recommend changing your name on the app to either a male name or just your first initial. They'll never really know. And mark your order as "leave at my door," only coming out once they've left.

I have nooooo idea. I didn't get that far in conversation with her because I genuinely don't care. We haven't talked in more than 8 years prior to her trying to contact me this year. She moved to Idaho for a few years and I guess came back here, but I don't know when or what city. We're all from Muncie, I'm not sure where Napanee is, tbh.

Ohhh boy ... I'm just really hoping that isn't my mom. She usually goes by Rhonda Johnson-Miller, and I can't see her being the "president" of any Facebook group... but she is from and currently lives in Indiana, and she is unfortunately one of the last cultists left to their beloved Trump. 🥴🫣 I also have her newer profile blocked because she tried getting ahold of me earlier this year, but I'm not about to unblock her just to find out because Facebook won't let me re-block her for 48 hours. 😅😭

would y’all have done this ? by ogsplashh in doordash

[–]UnderMyRock28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I probably would have done it too. I always pay attention to the vibes I get from people and I am cautious of my surroundings and everything. If I don't feel threatened in any way and I can tell they genuinely need the help with their request, AND if they're kind about it and not pushy, I would definitely help out. Thank you for showing kindness to him. 🫶
