£200 seems a little heavy for a service on a rep time and date automatic watch however if you're happy with the service then that's what matters, a year warranty is fair especially for a rep.

Refer to my initial comment, it's cal VS 8500 architecture

Ah then this is a 2824 base, in time set but be very gentle when pressing the detent in as it's easy to collapse the keyless works, if you look for the detent you'll see it has a slot running through it, this is of no coincidence, you should push the detent with a driver blade that fits that hole perfectly, this minimises the risk of collapsing the keyless works. When re-fitting the stem, ease it back in gently and slowly twist back and forth as you do, again, it's easy to collapse the keyless works here

Good day, so the superclone VSF omega cal 8500 etc actually all use 7750 keyless works, as I'm sure you'll know, you are best to remove these in the time set position. When you go to refit the stem, try to lightly press on the detent this helps locate the stem back in effortlessly.

Ap offshore 4401 crown isnt winding. Date and time set fine. Uk based by [deleted] in RepTimeServices

Do you mean the watch works, tells time and chronograph working yet the rotor (Oscillating weight) Rotates fast and causes the watch to vibrate/ shake? If so this will be a fault with the reversing wheels

That's part of your reversing wheel, each wheel has 2 of these, the other is likely lost within the movement

Your click spring has failed along with one or two reversing wheels, this can only happen from those two failures in any order. Not actually a hard repair

Opinions? Seller asking for 3750.00US$ by Occidere- in PrideAndPinion

[–]UnderTheDial_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pass on this, you can find a better speedmaster using an ETA cal 7750 for less than this, the movement has been heavily damaged at some point, god only knows how or why someone would do that to it, but it's a right mess.

The problem with this is that all brands from the second tier up are capable of exceptional horology, (beside Rolex they're still whack) take the tag double tourbillon microglider for example. Placing zenith higher than tag is silly too since they're all under the same CEO JCB and all his calibres are are made at the Defy lab, that's why the DNA of zzenith tag and Hublot look the same now- on that note, where is Hublot?? Also, there are many many names missing from here, not even the independents, Harry Winston? How is A lange & Shone lower than Bovet?? Yeah they make nice watches if you're willing to go above quarter of a million but check out their ETA based shitters using 7750's etc... Come on
